UPDATE: New PPP Poll shows Palin leads the field marginally but that 34% of Huckabee's supporters 2nd preference would be for her which would seal the deal in the key primary elections. This makes the request to Gov.Huckabee vital.
***********************************************
Dear Governor Huckabee,
I am sure your public persona as a sincere, affable and considerate person is genuine and reflects the core person beneath the image. Certainly your 2008 run for the presidency was accomplished with dignity. The result you achieved, both electorally and from creating a body of supporters, surprised many and reinforced the respect you are held in.
Given the nature of the political cycle, and the vast amounts of money and structures required for a presidential campaign, commencing with the primary run,the 2012 candidates will be forced to announce their intentions shortly-possibly as early as February.
You have not given a definitive answer as to whether or not you will run.I understand you have a degree of structure in place and of course you have a loyal following. On the other hand, you advised, when asked about your intentions that you "had a good gig at Fox", which, being popular and lucrative, might well beat standing outside factories at 6 a.m. in the Winter-not that you wouldn't hesitate to do that if required.
Before you do decide one way or the other, can I put it to you there are, I believe, three vital factors,apart from the Fox career path,which might weigh heavily on your thinking as you contemplate whether to run or not;
1.Faith
You are a deeply committed and sincere Christian. As part of your faith, which is so deep it led you into the Ministry, you are strongly pro-life.Your Christianity holds and finds you promoting,at the very least and by you example of a lived Christian life, these values in legislation and in moral persuasion.
2.Flag
Your conservative principles are central to a strong economy.A low tax environment as the best mechanism to foster growth,a strong armed forces, and the upholding of America's leading role in the world as an honest broker, friend it those who support us, and a strong supporter of Israel.
3.Family
You are clearly a loving husband and father and dedicated family man. Certainly you, like all such honorable men treasure your family as the core of your heart and strength. And would promote these family values by example and where possible by legislation.
With these three essential considerations relating to a possible candidacy one overarching question arises. "If I run and split the the vote between Sarah Palin and myself,who share many if not all of these values so neither of us wins what might be the end result? To answer that question in part here are some recent polls whose results reflect Republican voters preferences in various States;
One thing is obvious, the combined Palin/Huckabee vote is substantially ahead of any other single candidate (and many combinations) and would carry vital states
(e.g. California;Romney 25%/Palin 18%/Huckabee 15%). If things stay as they are, i.e. with the vote split between you both, there is a possibility the candidate who does not share the faith and flag values you and Sarah do-as clearly recognized by a majority of voters-might win. The figures are striking; Romney 19.5%/Palin 17.9%Huckabee 17.1%
The question then arises, would you be content to see a candidate lead the GOP in 2012 whom the base of the Party clearly do not see as reflecting your values? If you hold to these values, as you clearly do, and believe they are best for America would it not hurt the country you love to have as president someone who might enact policies inimical to your core values?
The question further arises-you hold, I believe, shared values with Sarah, why then should it not be you who is the standard bearer and her that should endorse you?
With that key question we come to examining the third factor, family, as it relates on a personal level. Because you were not the nominee in 2008 you, and your family, were not subjected to the minute, examination that Sarah was.We saw an endless campaign of sleaze, lies, scurrilous rumors, false stories of affairs, of divorce, her children attacked-even an helpless Downs Syndrome child mercilessly ridiculed.
Every aspect of Sarah's life, her clothes, her accent, her family-everything was grist to the radical lefts mill. Nothing so vile, so untrue, was off limits in the media's attempt to ensure their chosen candidates election. There is absolutely no reason not to think they will be at it again in 2012.
I am sure that you, like Sarah, are made of stern stuff and are able to stand up to such buffeting. But, could your wife and children? It is a deeply personal thing to ask I know, and if it gives offence I apologize, but, frankly, it is no less true for all that. I would not believe for a moment that this would not happen. This attack from the vile Blog "Wonkette" ridiculing you and your family is only the smallest foretaste of what would be to come I am sure.
Would not the same apply to Sarah? Frankly so much dirt has been shoveled at her that there is very little, if any, left in the vile hell hole the left has been digging from. If there was anything truly detrimental to her it would have come out well before now. Also, in her case the public is so sick of the media's attempts to destroy her, the radical left has to tread with caution in case they are seen to engender sympathy for her because of their remorseless attacks.
With respect, not only would you and your family be open to personal attack because of your values, but all aspects of your records with be examined with a fine tooth comb. For example the events surrounding the subsequent actions of some of the people whom you pardoned when Governor would be endlessly raised like "Willy Horton" was.
Governor Huckabee, I believe that all you hold to be true and dear-faith ,flag and family, can be honored in the forthcoming campaign and, as president, by Sarah Palin. By supporting her you would also have the freedom to express your views to a nationwide audience on Fox and would not have to undergo the long absences from family a long, two year campaign would engender, whilst they would be kept out of the spotlight. I would hope and trust that a most senior role would be available to you in the forthcoming administration, if you so chose to wish serving, which your talents so richly deserve.
I well believe that the future of America may well be in your hands. I believe that this future is best directed, with your assistance by Sarah Palin, who has superior qualities to the field, and you can make this future, which incorporates your best hopes, possible by your support of her at this crucial time in our history.

3 a.m Call "Iran Has Nukes Aimed At Washington" President Obama Or Palin To Take It?
We learn via the Wikileaks documents and the world-wide comments on them that The Obama administration was warned, according to Haaretz, by Israel's Defence Minister Ehud Barak in 2009 that Iran's developing nuclear weapons capability had to be neutered by the end of 2010 at the latest. After that the proposed mission would be non-viable for "collateral damage" reason. Further, Haaretz reported " Meanwhile, another cable shows that a 2009 claim by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Iran was months away from achieving military nuclear capability was dismissed by the Americans as a ploy"
Similarly The Saudi King suggested a surgical strike on Iran to prevent that country developing nuclear weapons and further destabilising the whole region.
We learn also that Iran has received advanced missiles from North Korea which they are attempting to modify to be able to at least reach Europe with a nuclear warhead.
In the 2008 election Hillary Clinton presented a devastating advertisement which was simplicity itself in its blunt question which went right to the point about Obama suitability to be president. It stated, in effect, "It's three a.m. and the emergency call comes through to the White House-who do you want to be the one to pick up the phone Obama or Clinton?"
The point Clinton's campaign made that the matter was one of experience-which of course Clinton had in abundance. It now seems clear the point should have been "Who has the strength of will, of purpose to defend America's interests firmly, forthrightly and quickly?
This question is now raised as regards President Obama or a potential President Palin. We have seen how the potential opportunity for a surgical strike against Iran has been frittered away-even though called for by Israel and Saudi Arabia. We have seen the result of President Obama's reaching out to the Muslim world in a new diplomacy. We have seen the result of the administration standing idly by whilst the Iranian election was protested and the protesters beaten.
We have seen the administrations lack of action as North Korea continues to develop its nuclear weapons capacity, sells arms to Iran, and attacks South Korea. The action taken against Iran and North Korea have been sanctions which Iran at least laughs off.
We see the Obama administration commit to a time frame to pull out of Afghanistan-signaling to the enemy exactly how long they have to hold out until the field is literally clear for them. The same for the suffering people of Iraq who will be left to totally fend for themselves when the last American soldier leaves. (which McCain said could be a thousand years if it was up to him).
We have seen Israel, America's staunchest ally under pressure from Washington to make a quick settlement which would bring Obama a foreign policy triumph to counter the disaster he has achieved at home as reflected in the mid-term "shellacking".
That is the proven record of this administration which Clinton so soundly warned against. What then of a putative Palin administration? Could anyone think that in all the instances above, where firm action, not words or sanctions, was required that Palin would not have acted firmly and surely to protect and advance America's interests? She would have taken Israel's part and signalled that negotiations for a just peace would ensure there were two in Israel's corner not just Israel and a stand apart America.
Due to the action, or rather inaction of the Obama administration, it seems sadly true that a three a.m. call to President Palin would be to deal with the nuclear threat which the previous Obama administration had allowed to develop. We can be assured that she would deal with it firmly and if the phrase can be used, in a manly fashion. We can only hope that things have not got to the point by 2012 where the situation is unsalvageable and America has to face a humiliating back down.

Black Lib Commentators More Dignified In Liberal Media's Palin Obsession
As if to prove his point beyond any question, not that somethings so obvious needs proving, the day after Charles Krauthammer belabored the liberal media for being obsessed with Sarah Palin, Clarence Page writes a whole column analysing her.
It had to happen of course that someone on the left would use Bristol Palin's third place result on DWTS as a metaphor for Sarah-it is actually cringe making writing being on the one hand so blatantly obvious "write me" it calls out to the left and yet such a poor metaphor that I was surprised that someone of his stature would actually descend to it.
"She made it all the way to the finals — further than anyone expected — with the help of votes pouring in from her vast, underestimated fan base, only to lose the final vote tally to more experienced professionals.
Yes, I am describing 20-year-old Bristol Palin's surprisingly successful performance for a non-dancer on " Dancing With the Stars." But I could also be describing what I expect will happen with her mother, Sarah Palin, in the 2012 presidential race."
Horrible isn't it?
What is pleasantly surprising, and in a way for Palin supporters, ominous, is that Page writes of Palin in, to me at least, a semi-ironic, detached and pleasant fashion.Nothing of the rantings of fellow Black commentator CNN's Roland S. Martin who the American Spectator described as calling for violence against Palin for the sin of, in his view, criticising the sainted Michelle Obama
"Martin writes, "Hmmm. 'Let's Move' is Obama's kick? Maybe someone should kick Sarah Palin so she can understand how devastating obesity is to the future of the United States."
Page's writing style in commenting on Palin mirrors that of a number of Black commentators, most notably Rev. Al Sharpton which frankly puts so many of their White coleagues to shame. This detached, seemingly bemused view is challenging to Palin supporters as it is harder to combat than the antagonism of other, mostly White, obsessives which just reinforce the public view of the liberal media as being unhinged where Palin is concerned. Where it falls short however is that even with the non-combative nature of the comments, it does not address Palin as a serious person, i.e. it does not address the values and issues she stands for and presents.
Thus Page still falls into the same category of the obsessive, but in his case milder version, anti-Palinism on the left which Krauthammer correctly decries.
On another aspect of Page's column-Jerry Seinfeld said on Letterman last week "everyones life sucks."
That comment referred to the non-personal of course, and in that vein it appears to me that given his excellent writing style, it must suck appreciably for someone of Page's talents to have to work within the haiku like formula of his column.
He presents in paragraphs of three to five lines, with about nine words per line. I am sure I err on the side of verbosity in my humble blog, but I could not cope with having to condense my thoughts into such a narrow framework. I am sure that years of discipline must allow Page to get down his ideas into the order that he wants, and which will purvey his where his mind is at, but still-it must suck from time to time to be so straight jacketed and formulaic.

Hypocritical Media Reveres "Give Em' Hell" Truman-Palin..Not So Much
President Harry S Truman is a revered icon on the liberal left and the mainstream media-which are one and the same of course- and Sarah Palin is universally reviled by these same forces.
Amongst the, seemingly endless epithets aimed at Palin we find her accused of, inter alia, being thin skinned, combative, poorly educated, common, thrusting her family into the limelight, would use atomic weapons.
Lets see how the iconic Truman stacks up on all these scores.
Truman was a “Ward Heeler” product of the Prendergast machine in Missouri. He never went to university and in business was a failed hat salesman. He was notoriously thin skinned and loved taking it to the press-the most famous photograph of him is him holding a copy of a Chicago newspaper who had the headline “Dewey Defeats Truman”. He spoke in folksy phrases with a Mid-Western twang alien to the East Coast elite sounds and phrases of his predecessor Roosevelt.
He was hugely proud of the, safe to say from this distance, rather poor talents of his Daughter Margaret ,whom he was happy to see in the limelight, and famously threatened a music critic who dared to suggest she was not up to her parents high opinion of her.
And of course Truman stands alone of all presidents as the only one who actually used not one but two atomic weapons.
One can barely imagine the action of the nostrils of the beltway elite if "Give Em' Hell Harry" Truman was on the scene today-Sally Quinn et al would have the vapors. Andrew Sullivan rants that Palin just doesn’t have the right sort of serious attitude so necessary for success in the presidency-presumably like Obama has who is using this right stuff to do such a fantastic job, which was soundly rejected by the great unwashed who just don’t get it.
"This may be a smart-ass retort; it may be useful innoculation against a potentially damaging gaffe; it may even be a well-researched blog-post, but what it isn't is anything approaching the kind of "character we expect in a president"
How Truman, this coarse, uneducated, media attacking, using family as a Prop, notoriously combative and thin skinned person (especially compared to the hugely talented and acceptable to the elite Obama) could ever be allowed within a mile of the nuclear button would beyond comprehension.
The utter hypocrisy of the left, especially where Palin is concerned, knows no bounds. One commentator taking Palin’s wonderful defense of a minor slip of the tongue which was pounced on by the left/blogosphere out of all proportion, tied himself into hypocritical knots. On the one hand denouncing Palin for taking the media to task, on the other defending what he acknowledges is his, and the media deliberate dumbing down their ‘work” to “promote conflict and make a living”
Such an admission is frankly beyond sad-how anyone could show up to work in the morning, to do a job which they know they have to deliberately do as badly as possible, is a terrible reflection on the media, their absolute abhorrence of the common man from their liberal elitism, which knows what is best for people, and absolutely reinforces Palin’s low opinion of these elitists. CNN, in a move beyond irony, have headlined Palin’s fight back Facebook post “Palin delivers a gaffe filled message” which at first glance would lead a reader to think that it was Palin who was making all the gaffes-not Obama-they have no shame.
As for Palin fighting back. The absolute failures of the Kerry and Dukakis campaigns were caused by exactly that, their not fighting back. Dukakis was miles ahead in the polls in his campaign against President Bush but when he came under attack for the “Willy Horton” affair and even did not fight back, and, even worse, when he failed to hit back hard when question about what he would do if his wife Kitty was attacked (imagine Sarah not responding to such a question about any of her family!) he was done for.
The same with Kerry who, when he came under attack in the “Swift Boat” challenge to his military record did not respond immediately, and hard. The left knows this and sees in Palin someone who would respond to the vilest attacks the left would drum up against her in 2012 so their obvious plan is to try and destroy her now. That this includes attacking her for the very same values they see and praise in Truman is a measure of their hypocrisy which they, having no shame whatsoever, disregard.
However, the public, who love battler, as they showed with Truman’s victory against all odds, (and dare it be said Bristol Palin’s remarkable journey on DWTS) will have the last word on the liberal elites smear campaign-I think it will be the last laugh.

Sullivan Admits Trig Is Palin's Son-"Trig Truther" Conspirators In Despair
Andrew Sullivan, a mainstay of the "Palin lied about her pregnancy-Trig is not really her son" paranoid conspirators has, at last given the game away.
In a long post where he attacks Palin's parental skills as a mother-two things which of course he knows nothing about and therefore has no business in commenting on, Sullivan lets this comment slip
" Yes, she left her two-year-old with Down Syndrome after a "worrisome" operation to campaign half the world away the next day, to save a far right candidate who lost. But she didn't leave Trig behind on a late-night stop in her red-state tour to promote her last book. (italics/underline mine)
Oh no ! What are Palingates and all the other "Trig Truther" sites who have built up an industry about "wild rides", fake pregnancies, fake pregnancy body suits, and other madness to do now that their doyen has given the game away? No doubt Sullivan will now be attacked as an apostate or "sadly mistaken" as they try and resuscitate this treason from the cause.

Frum/Cohen-Enough Already! Time For Lib/Con Jewish Commentators To Reconsider Palin
A young man comes running into his home and shouts out breathlessly “Grandpa guess what, Babe Ruth hit two homers today”. The old man strokes his beard for a moment and replies “tell me Moishele, what this Babe Ruth did-is it good for the Jews?”
It is this ‘is it good for the Jews’ prism that subconsciously shapes the worldview of this generation of liberal Jewish media commentators, showbiz personalities and Hollywood denizens. Not so much from their own life experience but from the handed down stories of hard times from their parents (like I heard-this is an "in the family post") or, for an older generation, Old Country trials and tribulation recollections from Grandparents.
For Palin to turn around the incessantly negative media hurricane that she, uniquely amongst politicians, has been subjected to, it is the hard core of Jewish commentators from, indeed, a non-elite family background (the bow tie wearers are a hopeless case, especially if they came from poor family situations) who need to be turned around.
No one expects Stewart and his ilk (and whomever Letterman’s gag writers are) to actually become a conservative Republican but they can recover their equilibrium and balance if they try and stand outside their inherited mental framework.
If they ask themselves “what this Sarah Palin is doing, is it good for the Jews?” in a reflective manner freed from class, social, tribal ancestral memory framework, (this is asking a lot I know but these are people who are clearly of a high intellectual level) there is food for thought. The first question in this analysis is not about Palin it is “is my liberal, Democratic party (or elitist Beltway Republican) supporting point of view based on historical and personal constructs which are still valid?”.
It is beyond ironic that the Jews, who in the 20th century fought for socialism and against the elites, should have created a posterity who have become part of the elite (including the financial elite like Soros) but who hold to a watered down socialism.
The overarching irony is that from this elitist, opinion shaping position the “elite” they attack when attacking Palin is the vast mass of lower to middle class Americans like those who lined up in their thousands in the bitter cold for a glimpse of someone who is as non-elite as could be imagined for a conservative politician.
The Bush, "Blue Blood", family-with their oil riches and country club imagery-yes most certainly a touch point for traditional Jewish liberal opposition, could anything be more New York City red rag to the Texas via Skull and Bones bull ? But Wasilla is not Dallas or New Haven. Palin’s history is taking on the oil companies not coddling up to them.
Fair minded analysis would surely allow the concept that Palin would govern with the interest of the average person foremost, not the Wall Street elite to whom she owes nothing.
If the Jewish faithed commentators on the left are to hold true to their faith which holds tolerance and brotherhood in the highest regard then they should lay down their historic, outdated prejudices. They are aimed at the wrong target and they owe it, in all fairness to their audience, to the American people, and to Palin to approach her and her supporters with an open mind.

Sarah Palin And The Buddhist Kitchen Hand
I work three days a week for a charity which creates long-term development projects in third world countries by having children sponsored. It is hugely rewarding on so many levels. Watching whole communities transformed, through the provision of clean water, sanitation, schoolhouses, education in animal husbandry and crop optimization is a delight and honor.
Seeing the very real pleasure that sponsors get by communicating with their sponsored child and seeing the growth in opportunities for that child whilst the sponsors children have a pen pal to grow up with whilst learning valuable life lessons is an honor really.
I was a guest of some quite wealthy community leaders at a dinner function in a top quality Thai restaurant recently. Of course the conversation came round to my work and I advised of the various opportunities for support of our projects- they were receptive nothing came of these discussions.
A few days later I received an email from a young man who described himself as a Buddhist and a Thai immigrant who although poor wanted to do something for charity and world peace as part of his spiritual path. He thought our charity, which is well known for total honesty and the fact that 100% of dispersed aid money goes only to projects and is third party audited, would be the best for him to work with.
I suggested he come in so we could discuss what role he might play-possibly as a volunteer. He turned out to be a poor, slightly shy but earnest young man who is genuinely committed to charity amongst those overseas worse off than he is. He advised that he talked to the organizers of the forthcoming Thai National Day celebrations, which thousands will attend, and they agreed he could set up a fundraising stall so he is underway.
It turns out that this young man is a kitchen hand in the same Thai restaurant I dined in with the leading lights just a few days before and, whilst he has nothing and they everything, he will be the one to change lives amongst the poor.
I reflected how much this is like the current political scene is, where the established elites mock and ridicule Sarah Palin and the millions of ordinary folks who support her. It is these people, categorized as trailer park trash, hicks, ignoramuses, who are the heart and soul of America. Their generosity, no matter their personal circumstances is boundless. The American spirit in the maligned, by the east and west coast elite, “fly over country” is one of love of family, country and God.
These elites had their day in November 2008 and it has been downhill all the way ever since. The generous spirited poor, like the kitchen hand, have had enough (as the Tea party shows) and the anger-shown in the mid-terms this November across the country-will be the next step in taking America back. The final step will be the swearing in of an (extraordinary ordinary !) Christian patriot in 2012.

Liberal Blog Wonkette Allows Palin Comment That Obama Should " send one of those CIA kill squads "
Well known blog "Wonkettte" is known for its vicious Palin attacks. Apparently the left knows no boundaries, in its obsessive hatred of Sarah Palin, to the point where the editors allow the suggestion of sending a murder squad against her. They previously allowed a comment which encouraged a deranged stalker to use stronger firepower than the shotgun he had purchased to "wipe out the breeding pair"
This, in all its filth and incitement to have Palin killed by a CIA hit squad ordered by The President was posted today:
StillGoinGreen November 24, 2010 at 10:03 am
Now, if he would just send one of those CIA kill squads (that W made famous) to Alaska, or TLC, or wherever that squeaky cunt is this week – we wouldn't have to think about her anymore either! I have always thought that some people just make better martyrs than they do leaders
Surely there must be a limit to what the rabid left can say and incite to do? If a right wing commentator had said this in print about the president there would be howls of outrage from the entire left, including especially, comments about racism-but Palin is fair game it seems.
One would hope the authorities would take notice of Wonkette, this is not the first time they have allowed this sort of thing, before someone follows the example they set and there are tragic consequences.

Moronic Anti-Palin Headline Of The ...Well Ever " Sarah Palin Blasted for Halibut 'Snuff Film'
That's it...just when I think PDS can't possibly reach any lower depths of outright insanity we get this headline
"Sarah Palin Blasted for Halibut 'Snuff Film'
And here is the text in it's sad entirety
Sarah and Bristol were featured on a halibut fishing excursion on the reality show "Sarah Palin's Alaska" -- the show even featured a scene in which Sarah and Bristol clubbed the fish to death ... a standard practice among fisherman.
But a group called "In Defense of Animals" is lashing out at the reality fam -- saying, "Sarah Palin’s complete lack of compassion as demonstrated in this snuff video is disgusting."
The group adds, "Most disturbing is the way she seems to enjoy causing suffering to other beings. When they laugh about the beating heart that Bristol holds in her hand, their complete insensitivity to the animal kingdom becomes clear."
FYI ... a rep for the Alaska Charter Association -- a group in defense of recreational halibut fishing -- tells us the clubbing technique is actually "humane" because it's used to "minimize the suffering of the fish."
******************************
I found this wonderful comment on another Blog (apologies-I can't recall which one)
"LMAO! I knew, when we were watching that show, that the crazies would be coming out of the woodwork. The sad part is, I really don’t know what these people think, or even imagine about how a fish makes it from the ocean, to their fork. Do they think we eat the ones that die of old age?
The only better way to kill these creatures would be to catch them, and force them to listen to one of Obama’s long, drawn-out answers to simple questions, or…better yet, one of his speeches. I CAN’T listen to him!!! If someone made me listen, I’d throw myself into the boat, and knock myself out with my own fish-tail. Seriously!"

Did Letterman Actually Say "They're Paying People To Vote" For Bristol?
Yes he did. In a show where his antagonism for all things Palin ran wild. He made a silly comparison between a possible Trump candidacy and a Palin one and then a boring "Top Ten" list about her forthcoming book and a snide aside about not being able to go to Alaska now.
Then he actually implied that the DWTS show was being fixed in Bristol Palin's favor and yes...he actually said that "They are paying people to vote" for her.Who "they" are was not stated but if I was a partner in the law firm of Soo, Grabit, and Runn, I would be making a call to the executives of DWTS and the Palin's.
Frankly, Letterman seems to have a fixation problem which needs professional attention.
What these left wing media people still can't get through their heads is that the more they spread their blatant, idiotic and obviously slanted/biased comments about the Palin's they create sympathy for the them as (genuine) victims.
This, the hatred, works on two levels-the in your face gut hatred and the, almost laughable, pure class based antagonism. In contrast the the former, Letterman type we have the, almost delightful in its other worldly, effete, straight down the nose attacks on Palin. This was exemplified by the latest from Sally Quinn in her "On Faith" Wapo column which is dripping with Beltway, cocktail circuit condescension, of the most airy/fairy order, indeed, a classic of its type.
It is so bad it is mercilessly lampooned even by leftists sites, but an important thing has happened which sets it apart-no for the content of the article, but rather for the subsequent comments.
Usually when a pillar of the leftist media like WAPO runs an article about Palin there are screeds of follow up comments pillorying her, usually of the "she's so dumb, and a quitter" moronic sort. The Quinn article is particularly worth delving into the comments section for, as something unique has happened.
Commentator after commentator attacks the tenor of the article, the obvious elitist attitude, and defends the Palins strongly and, interestingly and tellingly, acerbically. There is a new wind blowing, it is noticeably picking up strength, and has been seen in favorable articles by the New York Times for example, in comments from critics who are taking a, resigned to their fate attitude, i.e. that Palin may indeed not only be the nominee, but might even be president.
We live in interesting times which are getting more interesting by the day

Ode On Palin's Inauguration January 2013
Ode On Palin's Inauguration January 2013
There's a fresh wind blowing from the far, far north
And it's driving a cleansing rain
A new day will dawn as it uplifts the forlorn
And to the weak it will impart its strength
Near fifty years we'll have waited, through turmoil and strife
To have youthful inspiration once again
Cast in Kennedy's mould, this time a woman as bold
America rejoice ! Revel in renewed life !
As she stands to take the oath to what voice do we strain?
It's the voice of small towns from all over the land
America's heartland hearkens to the heart of it's sweet-heart
As the words "God Bless America" soar triumphantly again !

Alaskan Bloggers Palin Attacks Did God's Work (God Has A Sense Of Humor)
The fact that God does indeed move in mysterious ways is well born out by the actions of the very people who, by their schemes and mechanisms, plots and plans, sought to bring down Sarah Palin when she was Governor of Alaska having succeeded beyond their wildest dreams.
Allied with the assorted busybodies, loonies and the just plain vindictive who kept up a barrage of "ethics complaints" Governor Palin resigned her office for the plain and simple reason-it is no mystery-that she could not do her job under the circumstances. Her enemies on the left rejoiced "we are sitting here admiring the trophy head we have collected"
Unfortunately for them, the Moore's, Immoral Minority, Mudflats and other assorted oddballs (all of whom would be nobodies if they didn't have Palin to direct their fantasies, spite and neuroses against) their wildest dreams have turned into nightmares and their "victory" is the classic definition of Pyrrhic.
Without their plots and schemes Palin would still be Governor of Alaska and, although still a voice in the G.O.P. her presence on the national stage would be limited. By resigning she is now a massive force, able to have the President's Chief Of Staff make a public apology, put the health care bill off course, travel across America supporting candidates, write a massive best sellers and, wonderfully, drive the radical left crazy.
Palin is a Christian with a belief in Christian destiny for good and the possibility of God's "open door". It is not only God who has opened the door to Palin's ascension to a level she would never have been able to reach as Alaska's Governor but God's agents in the process-the left wing bloggers and their supporters in Alaska.
God has a sense of humor and there is laughter amongst the Angels in the Celestial Halls.

Weekend Idiosyncrasies "These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things"
Of course the romantic images of utterly feminine women stick in the adolescent mind and can't be dislodged even by late teenage hormones. Although the fashions/makeup are well out of date the mental image of the fair maid outside the castle wall still appeals-at least to this incurable romantic.

Only Lincoln Had More Forces Arrayed Against Him Than Has Palin
There is something astonishing going on in American politics-perhaps in the American psyche. The forces arrayed against an unemployed housewife from a small town in Alaska are at a level unseen since Lincoln's day. One the one side, Sarah Palin and her small team of supporters, on the other side;
The GOP establishment-witness e.g. Rove/Barbara Bush !
The Beltway media establishment from left and right,
The leftist Alinsky aligned Blogosphere
The main stream media-the liberal dailies/ TV&radio networks
The entire MSNBC commentariat
The trash "satire sites" e.g. Wonkette/Gawker,
The leftist magazines e.g. New York Magazine/The New Yorker
The late night television hosts,
The fanatic hate blogs e.g. "Palingates,."
The nut case conspiracy sites promoting "Babygate",
The media/bloggers who support various GOP candidates
The trash tabloids and Hollywood gossip "columnists"
The ivory tower academics
The trades unions
The Black left wing commentators
The entire Democratic Party
The Radical feminists
This level of attack, antagonism, slander, psychosis, self-interest, contumely, arrogance, leveled against this one lone woman is at a level unseen since the days of Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln was pilloried from all quarters and described in vile terms in respect of his appearance, birth, attitude to slavery, in oaths and epithets which are unprintable. In his case great issues-slavery and the saving of the union were at stake and it is no wonder that passions were so inflamed.
What great issues wracking the nation, what matters of life and death, of personal bankruptcy, of war, are so wrapped up in the person of this one lone woman that such an unprecedented array of forces are arrayed against her?
That Palin can carry on her life with the degree of cheerfulness that she presents, that she doesn't curse the very morning that brings her light, that she doesn't simply tell everyone to go to hell, is the greatest tribute that can be thought of in respect of her.
And what has she done to deserve all this opprobrium? Palin wants to see America return to "common sense conservatism" of the Reagan era variety This return to a time of prosperity, when America was honored and respected throughout the world , is apparently, such a dangerous vision that its proponent must be stopped at all costs, and with the full array of every possible resource allied against her.
I for one continue to be amazed and inspired by the courage of this one lone woman and am more and more dedicated to do what I can to lend my small voice to assist her in whatever choice she makes going forward..
Lincoln overcame seemingly unbeatable odds to transform America forever and for the good. Palin, with God on her side and with the unflinching support of those who believe in her message of positivity and American exceptionalism can win no matter how hard the battle.

Satire Is What Closes On Saturday Night-And China/America Ascendency/Decline
The playwright George S. Kaufman was absolutely correct, satire, especially something above the level of SNL-which is in reality moronic slapstick, has a very limited appeal. I have posted a number of, to me and, sadly, a limited number of discerning readers, clearly satirical pieces the end result of which is disheartening.
The latest, a posting about a Nostradamus prediction about Sarah Palin is so obviously a make piece, composite farrago that I am amazed anyone would not recognize it instantly as unadulterated satire. There is, as with any good satire, a core didactic element, but it is so framed in New Age nonsense that the core should stand out to anyone with an element of discernment.
I posted it on freerepublic and not only was I banned from further postings on that site, but commentator after commentator took it seriously, or as a matter of amusement that other posters would attack it, with only a few seeing the positive aspect.
Similarly the Orwell satire, and, for heavens sake, the “Après moi le déluge”, posting were so over the top that I was amazed that I wasn't chided for going to far in pseudo-intellectual posturing.
I make no claim for any level of intellectuality, basically I am an autodidact who has, as Aneurin Bevan said to King George VI when asked how he knew so much "I have plucked from the hedgerows of experience". However I must admit to a sad shaking of the head in sorrow at the level of discernment amongst so many of the general public. I refuse to use the term "dumbing down" but perhaps those in position of authority in society in the area of education should take a long hard look at the current standard of education-particularly in the humanities.
On a broader picture, perhaps those with a wider, historical view, might consider the education, family, work ethic of the Chinese in contrast to the current American society and use that as a tool to ponder the rise and fall of empires.

UPDATE Nostradamus Himself Posts A Note:Nostradamus Predicts Palin's 2016 Victory.Democrat's Helpless In Face Of Destiny
Exciting news! Not only has Nostradamus seen into the future and predicted Governor Palin's ascendancy to the American presidency in 2016 but....he will reveal himself after the 2014 mid-terms. See the typically cryptic "reveal" letter at the end of this post (which proves it must be the genuine Nostradamus). Be sure to mark your calender's like I have.

The Seer Nostradamus, credited with amazing predictive abilities over the centuries apparently looked to our time and seeing a confluence of forces made a prophesy which can only point to the forthcoming election of Sarah Palin as the first female president in 2016. In the light of this any Democrat candidate is helpless in the face of an overarching destiny which no one, certainly no man can overcome. It would appear that the only possible chance of retaining The White House the Democratic Party have would be to nominate Hillary Clinton.
As a fore-note to the prophesy of Nostradamus it is of value to take notice of the commentary of Sri Mataji Nirmali Devi on the forthcoming rise of positive feminine power.
"And I have to specially make a very important request to the women that in these Modern Times they are the ones who are going to save the world, not the men. They have done their job before. Now it is for you to save with your understanding, with your compassion, with your sacrifices, with your wisdom, and innate love not only your children, your husband, your family, but the whole world. It is a very great opportunity for all of you to do your bit. . . . The whole Cosmos, just in complete respectful attendance, is waiting for their arrival."
"Nostradamus also prophesied what will probably become one of the most important third millennium issue for Humankind: The rise and empowerment of women who will heal the world with Love, Compassion, Cooperation and Harmony. The debilitating patriarchal world of aggression, destruction, rape and pillage will have to step aside and let them nurse humanity back to sanity. Women will rise in strength and power for they have been abused for just too long—just like Mother Earth."
If we examine the specific female related prophesy of Nostradamus as set out by Manuela Dunn Mascetti and Peter Lorie in their book "Nostradamus: Prophecies for Women" (Labyrinth Publishing [UK] 1995) we can see they have interpreted Nostradamus prophecies that predict the decline of patriarchy. However, they explain certain prophecies in the light of existing knowledge and this has to be put in proper perspective.
"New law to occupy the new land
Towards Syria, Judeau and Palestine:
The great barbarian empire of men decay,
Before the moon completes its cycle."
Century 3:97
Which they interpret as;
"A new law will emerge in the new world of America,
At a time when Syria, Judeau and Palestine are significant:
The great barbarian empire of patriarchy that men have created will decay
During the time that the feminine spirit is completing its cycle." This completion is specifically taking place now.
Adi Shakti comments on this analysis "They have correctly interpreted this verse, adding that "Throughout his verses Nostradamus frequently refers to "the new land" to mean America." This is an established interpretation, and in this case the "new law" which will arise there is related, in the last two lines, to two factors—the existence of a "barbarian" male empire, which is in decay, which is in turn is related to the Moon and its cycles—a common metaphorical association with woman. Put simply, the great virgin territories of the New World will be the source of a rising "lunar" consciousness as a time when the Judeo-Christian is at its peak."
The great empire of patriarchy that men have created will decay during the time that the feminine spirit is completing its cycle Women are destined for far greater glory in this millennium as they are the very source of feminine spiritual power, who will raise all humankind to a new level of consciousness".
Now given the irresistible power of the transforming, coming feminine power for healing and good, Mascetti and Lorie present the key to the specific relation of Palin to Nostradamus "the rising femine power in economic, social judicial, religious and political terms". Shakti cautions that this assumption of the former male role in society will fail 'without self realization, (which) will only make them succumb to the aggressiveness necessary for success".
Given the terrible state of society on all levels, political, economic, moral, spiritual it is beyond questioning that there is the need for a transforming, transcending element capable of healing all these intractable difficulties. Patriarchy, the Dionysian element as described by Camille Paglia, has taken us so far and apparently is incapable of taking the world to the next level. There is only one other force capable of this and that is the feminizing element.
For this to be effective it needs to be in a position of political authority, mere persuasion, no matter how sanctified, is not enough. Thus America stands in desperate need of a female leader. At this point in time, this crucial point in time, there is only one on the horizon, and that is Sarah Palin.
All the prerequisites, the strong female nature, the high degree of self-realization, the transforming capabilities based on inherent love of mankind, the deep spirituality, are forces strong in Palin who is the one seemingly prophesied, so long ago to "bring the new law" by a far seeing seer.

Palin To Walter's "Yes I Can Beat Obama" Facts/Map Prove This Absolutely
Sarah Palin, in a an interview with Barbara Walters (as one of "Barbara Walters' 10 Most Fascinating People" program ) stated, in response to this question from Walters: "If you ran for president, could you beat Barack Obama?"
"I believe so,"
Yes, she most certainly can, and her belief is well founded on fact as clearly set out in the maps below.
At this point in time the red states on this map (Map 1) appear a lock. The 2010 House election results (Map2) give every indication of confirming this scenario. Thus the 2012 presidential election hinges on Virginia/ Ohio/ Iowa which gives the Republicans, as things now stand, a very good chance of winning. It doesn't matter how much of President Obama's anti-Palin base turns out massively in California, and even more so in New York, whose electoral votes are declining rapidly and is now balanced out by Florida.
The biggest question will be if his Black and liberal support in Virginia will hold as it did in 2008-however the loss of Virginia to the Dem's could be overcome by winning Colorado and Nevada.
The map below is updated, allowing for projected population shifts, by Texas 38 Florida 29 New York 29 Missouri 10 . The totals for the Republicans are 272 electoral votes (270 required)

“Après moi le déluge” Is An Obama Reference. Can Palin Recover the Situation Or Will It Be Too Late
The brilliant site Tradicion Clasica (translated into English from the original Spanish) considers the expression “Après moi le déluge”, and Its Classical Antecedents in depth with many references to writers of antiquity (as of course befits this most erudite and catholic of sites) including Seneca, Lucretius, Diogenes, Strato of Sardis and numerous others.
For those, sadly, not versed in classical Greek (surely there are not many) there are handy translations into English and for those who prefer more up to date references there is this update "Geraldus Bucoldus translated this ancient Greek epigram into Latin in the Renaissance. In Spanish literature, Diego Hurtado de Mendoza (1503-1575) composed a sonnet which is a re-creation of the epigram".
In examining the well know phrase, translated into English as (“After me, the deluge") attributed to the King of France Louis XV (1710-1774): the editor posits (and goes to consider both in some depth with support from classical writers) two possible meanings;
1a) On the one hand, if we understand After me the deluge will come, the saying seems to imply, as an assertive affirmation: “After my reign, the nation will be plunged into chaos and destruction.”
b) The verb could also be understood as a subjunctive concession: After me, let the deluge come (it can come, but it makes no difference to me). In this second case, the speaker asserts that nothing that happens after his disappearance matters to him.
However, there is a third possibility which relates directly to our current, sad and dangerous, political situation and can be said of President Obama. "after me comes the deluge, that is after my election, and due to my inexperience, disconnect with the average person, and what I described as my "healthy ego" the deluge will come during my four years in office not subsequent to them".
The voters have signalled their concern, or possible panic given the massive size of the defeat inflicted on the
the Obama administration in the mid-terms, their unhappiness with the economic direction of the country. What has happened after nearly two years, especially in the seemingly intractable employment, housing, deficit and now inflation areas, may just be a start to an even further financial cataclysm-or deluge.
Here is one scenario looking to next year based on the current economic situation;
Marc Lichtenfeld writes: "There’s going to be a massive stock and bond market sell off in the first half of 2011. Not only that, the sell off could cause a worldwide financial disaster, global market crashes and the destruction of wealth that will make the popping of the dotcom and housing bubbles feel like a mild inconvenience."
"Why?
Because, quite simply, America is playing a dangerous game of “chicken” with its national debt. And the ramifications are extraordinary. I’m going to explain the situation and give you three ways to protect yourself from this mess before it’s too late…
America’s debt ceiling currently stands at $14.3 trillion. This is the level that, by law, the government’s debt is not allowed to exceed. Trouble is, the government’s present debt has swelled to $13.7 trillion.
This means that at the current rate, we’re on course to smash through that $14.3 trillion ceiling around May 2011 (although it might happen a month or two later, depending on what budget cuts are enacted in the next few months and how quickly they’re implemented). So what will the government do about this? Same thing it’s done almost every year since 1962: Raise the debt ceiling so America can pay its bills."
For this to happen a bill allowing this has to pass through Congress. Will President Obama agree to spending cuts, possibly including his signature health care program? Will a House vote of a senate filibuster block the passage of such a bill ? If this scenario plays out will investors at home and abroad take fright and abandon the U.S. economy leading to a massive crash? And, even if the debt ceiling is raised, how long can the economy carry on endlessly creating trillions of dollars in deficits before hyper inflation and a crash situation occurs ?
If, through gross mismanagement by Obama/Giethner and Bernanke, the economy crashes-the deluge after Obama's election, before the 'commonsense" solutions of President Palin has the chance to put the ship of state back on course, the damage last for generations. The only solution in sight is to pray that the collapse doesn't come before November 2012, and that if it does, that President Palin can draw on the goodwill of the American people to help and support her through the tough challenges of reconstruction.
