Suzi Parker At WashPost "President Obama Why Not Call Bristol Palin?" Comments Are As Expected

Suzi Parker in, of all places The Washington Post has an article up entitled "Why not phone Bristol Palin Mr. President" which calls for a new civility led by the example of President Obama reaching out to an opponent, or in Parker's example, the daughter of an opponent.
Parker,rightfully excoriates Maher, not only for his original disgusting comments about the Palin women, but for his mealy mouthed attempt at blaming everyone else for the ensuing revulsion without mentioning his part in creating it.
Sadly for Parker I think Bristol will have a long wait to receive the healing call from President Obama. Even more to the point Parker's column shows the futility of even trying to get across to leftist and Palin haters (one and the same of course) any idea of a civil discourse. The comments to her column are a sad mixture of hate and ignorance-some of them even longer than Parker's column itself.
There is no cure for PDS or leftist hate thinking, no matter how much, and how sincerely thinkers like Parker wish there to be. Just as there was no cure for anti-Reaganism too. The only thing that can best happen is for another Reagan type administration which can genuinely lead by example to a new "Morning in America" which leaves the leftist haters to froth and gibber in isolation.
Here is Parker's best statement;
"But maybe Obama should consider picking up the phone.
Addressing the president, Bristol continued, “What if you did something radical and wildly unpopular with your base and took a stand against the denigration of all women ... even if they’re just single moms? Even if they’re Republicans?"
I agree. What if liberals, conservatives and moderates played nice for a bit? Obama ran on civility, and would make an important statement by reaching out to the daughter of a political adversary who’s been unrelenting and uncareful in how she’s spoken about him."
