The M.J. Sheppard Post Report 05/18/15;Ramadi/Sharon Stone/God &The Founders


Some nonentity  , who thinks he is so superior to Governor Palin, attacked her support of the Day of Prayer:

After the usual Alynskite personal insult to her he advised that the Founders had no place for God or religion in the founding documents.

No amount of references to academics who show the complexities of the founding documents where men, mostly Christians, were guided by their religious beliefs whilst creating secular documents sunk in, and were dismissed as "right wing". He then advised there were "no references to God in the founding documents."

There are in fact five.  in the Declaration of Independence. Of course this article was ignored with the usual method of personal insult flowing but the truth supersedes the haters who cut and run when confronted with it:

The Five References to God in the Declaration of Independence

Dr. Harold Pease is an expert on the United States Constitution. He has dedicated his career to studying the writings of the Founding Fathers and applying that knowledge to current events. He has taught history and political science from this perspective for over 25 years at Taft College.

Says Dr. Pease: It always amazes me when otherwise intelligent people are unable to find evidence of God in our governing documents. The Declaration of Independence, the signing of which we commemorate July 4th, alone has five references to God - two in the first paragraph, one in the middle, and two in the last.

"When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation." Who is responsible for "the laws of nature" but God - certainly not man nor nature itself? From the "laws of nature" sprang an awareness of natural law (sometimes called common sense), understood by early philosophers to be a source of higher law that never changes. This was best explained by Cicero, a Roman politician, as early as the 1st Century B. C. -even predating the existence of Christianity when he wrote: "Nor may any other law override it, nor may it be repealed as a whole or in part... Nor is it one thing at Rome and another at Athens, one thing today and another tomorrow, but one eternal and unalterable law, that binds all nations forever." Of "Nature's God," the second reference to deity is, of course, more explicit and needs no explanation.

The third reference to God is the word "creator" found in the second paragraph. "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." This boldly identified our base for at least three unalienable rights as God, and the Founders identified this truth as self-evident. Any person endowed with common sense or reason would/could come to this conclusion.

So passionate were they with respect to these three "God-given rights" that such was identified as the purpose of government. "That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed ..."

Moreover, their right of revolution hinged upon the denial of these "God-given rights." "That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes ... But when a long train of abuses and usurpations ... evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government and to provide new Guards for their future security." Once again, an appeal to natural law, which emanates from God, was noted and the loss of which always justifies revolution.

The fourth and fifth references to God are found in the last paragraph. The rightness of our cause was left to God as judge. "We, therefore, the Representatives of the United States of America, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good People of these Colonies, solemnly publish and declare, That these united Colonies are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent States, that they are Absolved from all Allegiance to the British Crown..."

The fifth and last reference to God asks for his divine protection in our revolutionary course of action. "And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor."

There was no dissent noted with respect to these references to God and their placement or emphasis in this document by any of the participants then, nor should there be now.

I was at the Navy Seal event last night in long beach. You were so rude and disrespectful Sarah Palin. .

I saw it and said that doesn't surprise me and then asked her what Stone did
This is what she tweeted back to me.

 turned her back on Sarah like she wasn't even there. It was disgusting and if I didn't see it with my own eyes I wouldn't

    THE FALL OF RAMADI-PRESIDENT OBAMA'S (AND HIS LEFTIST  ENABLERS) LEGACY OF HORROR, SHAME AND DEATH

    On the day Secretary of State John Kerry pledges an open ended stay in South Korea for as long as it takes to keep the country safe Ramadi falls to IS IS after the Obama administration left the country to its fate. Yes, later facts show that the invasion under president Bush was done on faulty information(or even willfully ignored proper information) and yes, the occupation, up to "the surge" was handled woefully but once there, as in Korea, the obligation to keep
    innocent civilians safe was the honorable thing to do.

    The leftist forces that put Barack Obama in power-the media/Hollywood/"progressives" made getting out of Iraq and Afghanistan at any cost their goal. No matter how many civilians were blown up, how many people tortured, how shattered the countries became, how much corruption ensued and how much American blood and treasure was wasted.

    Tens of thousands have been killed, hundreds of thousands displaced and lives shattered. The most evil, radical force imaginable has gained control of vast swathes of territory and who knows how many of their supporters are infiltrating into Italy among the refugee flotilla's and will end up in the USA?

    The deaths, dislocations and untold horrors lie at the feet of Ezra Klein, Kos Moulistas and all the other creators of the Obaam adminstration.

    for everything bad in Iraq, and perhaps beyond. While there were many mistakes made by Bush, Obama made a huge mistake when he pulled completely out of Iraq (after AQ had been defeated) and allowed Maliki to start going after Sunnis in a big way. The US pullout also resulted in the sheiks of the Sunni Awakening not being paid and kept in the fold.
    As I have before, my Ranger son, who fought in Ramadi and Fallujah in later 2006 and 2007, told me as Obama ordered US troops leave Iraq that all or most of the gains the US coalition had made were going to fall apart. Had the US kept troops in Iraq and kept a close eye on Maliki and Iraq and Syria, ISIS would not have arisen to be a force like it is today, in my view.
    I agree with Max Boot who said this a few days ago: "Today we are fast falling into an ever worse abyss--and it is one to which, by all indications, President Obama and his senior military commanders and civilian aides are utterly blind. Perhaps we should be talking about that rather than about what happened 12 years ago." Boot Commentary article.
    Boot also said this in the same article: "Ramadi was really where the Anbar Awakening began--the movement, started by Colonel Sean MacFarland in Ramadi in 2006, to mobilize Sunni tribes against AQI. After having lost hundreds of American soldiers in Ramadi and its environs since 2003, US efforts finally appeared to have paid off. AQI had been routed of the capital of its self-proclaimed caliphate, and would soon be routed out of the rest of the Sunni Triangle. Victory was in sight." "I remember walking down the ruined streets of Ramadi in the spring of 2007. ... But what was most remarkable was not the evidence of violence but, rather, the fact that no insurgents were shooting at my military escorts or me."

    If the current Obama strategy isn't working, pulling out is one alternative. However, stepping up support is also a strategy to be considered. Obama's last Iraq pullout certainly didn't work. I doubt that this one would work either. I don't believe the Middle East can or should be abandoned. It's too important to US and Western interests.
