Palin Or Romney (And Now Huntsman)-It's A Matter Of Faith. Both Sincere/Intelligent Men & That's The Problem.

I wrote the following some months ago when it appeared clear that Mitt Romney might be a challenger for the 2012 Republican nomination. The same speculation has now arisen regarding fellow Mormon Jon Huntsman who, like Romney, is a well respected person. I believe the comments written regarding Romney apply equally to Mr. Huntsman.
***********************************************************************************
I am certain That Mitt Romney has a belief in his Mormon faith that is deeply held and sincere. It, his faith, is a mark of his character which I applaud and respect.

It appears to me that he, through his faith holds to ideals of peace, love and humanity. Indeed, I have never met a person of the Mormon faith whom I did not find anything but pleasant, especially at a number of inter-faith meetings I have attended at the Church of Latter Day Saints temples from time to time.

For me however, when it comes to choosing which candidate to vote for, especially for the highest office in the land, I am unable to separate the person from their religion when that religion is Mormonism.
I can appreciate that most, if not all religions have a degree of the fantastic about them. Much of this is clearly set out to illustrate moral precepts or is, frankly, propaganda directed at perceived enemies. However, nothing I can see in the Judeo-Christian Muslim context is divorced from historic, anthropological and archaeological reality.
Taking an undisputed source, The Book of Mormon itself we find in the introduction what is set out to be the historical setting of Mormonism. In summary the introduction advises, inter-alia, that " A glorified, resurrected being, Moroni," showed to Joseph Smith in 1823 some golden plates upon which Moroni's father Mormon had inscribed the history of an ancient civilization in America and the visit of Jesus Christ to that civilization.
Again in brief " Two great civilizations came from Jerusalem ( to America) in 600 BC" namely the Nephrites and the Laminites the latter being the "Ancestors of the American Indians".There was apparently an older civilization the Jaredites which preceded them after "God confounded the languages at the Tower of Babel."
Now it is indisputable there is not a single shred of archaeological evidence of any pre-Native American ("American Indian" ) civilization, especially one of the purported size and sophistication set out in the Book of Mormon. Not a building, boat or artefact, not a domestic utensil, article of jewellery or clothing, or grave, in fact, nothing at all.
The ancestors of the "American Indians" did not come from the Middle East, they are indisputably of Asian origin having crossed the ancient land bridge from Siberia. The idea that the language (or rather multiplicity of languages) of Native Americans' was "confounded in Babylonia" is ridiculous and is not of course supported by any regarded ethnologist. We are clearly dealing not with fable or even fantasy but with a romance.
Again, there is a lot to challenge in the history of the Christian religion but nothing on the level of the entire religion being divorced from any sort of reality grounded in time and place.
I appreciate that people of faith can compartmentalize their life views. World famous scientists can view their work in the strictest of rationality whilst being sincere Christians which religious dogmas they understand they adhere to as a matter of faith divorced from the mindset they use in their occupation.

However, as much as I respect this attitude (which I hold to myself) there is a point at which I have to question the mindset of those who have, as I see it, stretched the faith/rationality dichotomy beyond its limits.

Thus for Romney to hold, as I am sure he sincerely does, to the purported historic roots of the Mormon faith shows that, to me at least, he has thought processes that are a significant aspect of his personality that are questionable in respect of wider views he might hold now or in the future.
These include concepts which, again to me, are are totally divorced from reality. I would not look to a candidate for president to have, again as a major aspect of his very being, this sort of mindset.
Simply put, if non-rationality at this core level can be accepted and acted on then what other non-rationality can also be accepted and acted on?
It may be said that Palin might hold to a fundamentalist belief which may or may not consider e.g. evolution to be totally true and which might take the old testament to be literally correct. However those views, even if held, are well within the mainstream of acceptable religiosity and have been held by world leaders throughout the ages. I would be sure the majority of voters would be comfortable electing a person to high office who subscribed to them.
It might also be stated that the same objections to Romney/Mormonism was made in respect of John F. Kennedy (and Alfred E. Smith before him) which objections have proven to be unfounded.

However, the objections to Roman Catholicism was predicated on the belief that the Pope would be put in a position of having undue influence on American politics through the mechanism of a Catholic president-not primarily to the basic beliefs of the religion itself.Whether the majority of voters would be comfortable in voting into the White House a person who held to the Mormon faith is a matter of conjecture but for me it is a settled issue.

Obamacare Ruled Unconstitutional Today-Then Obama Should Resign For Not Concentrating On Human Misery of 17 Million Unemployed

According to Weigal at Slate

A Florida District Court Judge has ruled not only that the Commerce clause in the Obama care bill is unconstitutional but the whole bill is thus rendered unconstitutional.

If this judgement holds when,as surely it will be, appealed to the Supreme Court, and it is unlikely, one would imagine that the conservative majority on that court would overturn the Florida judges ruling, then that is the end of Obamacare.

This is not a time for rejoicing, whilst of course conservatives, and one would imagine, the majority of Americans who polls showed, and the November elections proved, don't like the bill.

Rather, it is a time of sad reflection. The Obama administration and its allies in Congress spent an almost monomaniacal amount of time and energy getting this bill passed. At the same time millions of Americans were suffering soul destroying unemployment-clearly,as events have proven, the administration should have made getting people back to work and restoring their basic dignity the number one priority-certainly that would have been the expected course for the heirs of FDR.

But no-what happened was the Democratic Party threw off its heritage to bow to the ego of "The One" who was able to say, however temporarily, that he succeeded where previous presidents failed, including Clinton, in getting a health care bill passed.

17 million people were sacrificed on the altar of ego-the honorable thing for Obama to do would be to resign in the face of perpetuating this misery for no good reason.

The only possible thing which might hinder an Obama resignation would lbe the thought of Biden taking over-thus the best course would be for both to go and the Speaker to take over-which would simply be a reflection of what the country advised it wanted in November.

The White House 3 a.m. Phone Rang. A Man Answered It-It Should Have Been Either Of Two Capable Women Palin/Clinton

"Obama will go down in history as the president who lost Egypt"

So says Haaretz Newspaper in Israel. There is no need to go into great historical detailed analysis, the basic facts are that the inexperienced President Obama made the liberal wishy washy decision to go soft on Islamicism
in his fatal Cairo speech.

Then when push came to shove he didn't make the all out effort to temper the Mubarak regime, nor did he stop his foot in mouth VP Biden from saying Mubarak wasn't really a dictator. Can anyone now say that Palin as VP could have possibly been any worse than Biden?

Now the US is flip flopping all over the place, pleasing nobody and possibly laying the groundwork for a radical islamicist regime which will add to the coming "ring of Islamicist states" as the predicted outcome by an Imam yesterday.

Hillary Clinton warned about having an inexperienced empty suit in the White House to take the 3 a.m. call. This struck a note with the Democratic party voters but it came too late in the campaign to change the outcome-sadly.

I would prefer to have the other woman, Palin in the White House at this time, or rather, two years ago, but Clinton would have been better than what we now have.

Can we hold together for another two years?

First Annual "A POEM FOR SARAH PALIN" Pro-Am-& Youth Categories Competition

This site is honored to institute the annual "A Poem For Palin" competition.

Given the huge amount of love, respect and admiration for Sarah Palin, as indicated by her 2.5 million Facebook followers it was considered that there needed to be an avenue for those creatively minded supporters to express theri sincere feelings in the immortal language of love-poetry.

There are no limits as to length, creative formula e.g. iambic pentameter, free verse, pure prose, and even language (although a translation into English would be appreciated). An ode, an Icelandic style epic, something in an Homerian Greek classical style, basically whatever suits the contributors best efforts to express their deepest feelings for their muse.

Being a topic of such universal interest, and given the massive broad based support for Palin it was felt best that the contest should be divided into professional, amateur, and under ten years old categories.

This will give everyone, no matter what age or ability, an opportunity to present their very best efforts.

The competition will run until the end of March to give plenty of time for working hard and polishing up the entries-there is no limit on the number of entries any individual can make.Submit to the "Comments" section of this site

The awards panel looks forwards to receiving a flood  of entries and will, from time to time, publish examples so as to further inspire readers.

Good luck with your poems which will assuredly be worthy of the great champion of America who inspires so deeply !

Chris Matthews Advises "Panama Canal Is In Egypt" But Criticizes Palin! Those Who Live By The Snide Die By The Snide.

Noel Sheppard at NewsBusters has the full transcript of genius Chris Matthews giving a geography lesson on canals world-wide.

This is the person who spends show after showing slagging off Sarah Palin for every little supposed fault-it is delightful to see these liberal jerks exposed for what they are-not that it will shut them up.

However, they will have a harder time pointing out every little flub that Palin makes when each time they do this classic is thrown back at them.

Those who live by the snide die by the
snide.

Obama Caught Flat Footed Over Egypt Despite Ex P.M. Warning In March "Social and political unrest if the problem of unemployment persists."

Not only does the Obama administration have "Blood on its hands' because of Bernanke's Reserve Bank profligacy as set out in the analysis by economic commentator Mike Shedlock, but also because it chose to ignore warning after warning to not keep propping up Mubarak ("He's not really a dictator" said Biden).

That this could lead to further, and massive bloodshed and the eventual installation a radical Islamic regime not only in Egypt but across the Middle East has been set out at this link.

The abject failure of the Obama administration to take pre-emptive action is highlighted in this report from author Aladdin Elaasar way back in March .

In his commentary he quotes, at length, various clear and disturbing economic statistic which showed that Egypt was in a severe economic crisis with huge unemployment, especially amongst youth. He quotes the former Egyptian Prime Minster Atef Ebid, regarding the unemployment "time bomb" and makes this prescient remark "Since there is no unemployment insurance in Egypt there was a tacit warning regarding social and political unrest if the problem of unemployment persists"

That the Obama administration seems to have chosen to ignore all this data and comments from leading Egyptians-surely someone in the administration reads the ultra-liberal Huffington Post-is a black mark against them.

Former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Scott Carpenter said today that "The Obama administration had better get off its talking points" and do something to assist the Egyptian people to work towards a democratic administration. The alternative, and the path the Obama administration seems to be choosing is to have a radical Islamic region.

The public must be having severe " buyers remorse" regarding the outcome of the 2008 election-one can’t imagine a McCain/Palin administration managing this situation
so poorly.

Teddy Roosevelt;Speak Softly & Carry A Big Stick /Obama Egypt Crisis; Speak Softly & Carry A Limp Dick/Palin; Restore American Exceptionalism

Instead of, as President Obama did with his Cairo speech "reaching out" to the Muslim world in a new kinder gentler manner" the speech, if it needed to take place at all with all its naiveté, should have, as Palin (or as a McCain/Palin administration would have done) reinforced America’s exceptionalism, its commitment to Israel, its absolute opposition to nuclear weapon proliferation in the Middle east-including a threat to remove the incipient creation of such by any and all means.

It should have, clearly and unmistakable made a commitment to democracy and the willingness to work with newly installed, secular, democratic regimes

When the Iranian people attempted a revolt against the election swindle the Obama administration should have, unreservedly supported their action in the streets. What happened in Tunisia shows that such action can be successful.

Rather than being wishy washy over the similar events in Egypt the administration should unequivocally support the rising. Otherwise by propping up Mubarak, if and when he falls the possibility of an Islamic fundaments regime coming to power-with all the dangers that represents is strongly possible.

It is unimaginable that a Palin presidency would have gone down the limp handed, or other appendage path, this liberal administration has .

There's nothing to add really except to advise of the further tragedy of having to wait two years for the new T.R. Sarah "Stand Up For America" Palin to bring America back to its, unashamed, proud to be exceptional, greatness in the world again.

Imam; "A Circle Of Islam Is Coming In The Middle East". Who Should Deal With The New Reality-Obama Or Palin?

The BBC showed a religious service from the Middle east where the Imam, discussing the unfolding ,revolutionary events in Egypt and elsewhere told the congregation that they were seeing the birth of a "Ring of Islam".

We know we have the Obama administration and the policies of the Reserve Bank to thank for this development.

Obama for not letting the Iranians know, loud and clear, as Palin and Bolton have done, that America will not stand for the development of nuclear weapons. The policy of sanctions-speak softly and carry a soft stick, clearly has had no effect on the Iranian regime and has not shown that America has strength and fortitude.

Pulling out of Afghanistan and Iraq, the opposite of what a President McCain would have done, leaves allies in the lurch to face an uncertain fate-made even more uncertain the revolutions now under way leave a chain of radical Islamic governments in the area.

The phrase "a circle" could also mean that Israel would be "encircled” by a mass of anti-Jewish Islamic states dedicated to its destruction, one of which might be nuclear armed.

As the British economic analysts Mike Shedlock stated yesterday, we have one person (and the administration which put him back in power) to thank for this dispiriting, dangerous sequence of events- to quote again:
"Blood on Bernanke's Hands

Most of the increases in food prices are due to droughts in South America, floods in Australia, and poor growing conditions in many places.

However, Bernanke's "Quantitative Easing" policies combined with rampant credit growth in China and India have led to increased speculation in commodities. That speculation has forced up food prices.

Please note that speculation in commodities is not a cause of anything. Rather commodity speculation is a result of piss poor monetary policies not only the Fed, but central bank
ers worldwide.”

The rise in commodity prices because of "hot money" has made the life of the poor insufferable hence the uprisings. These may welllead to radical, hard line Islamacist governments surrounding Israel.

It is a matter of regret that at this time of crisis where the Obama administration is speaking with three voices -Gibbs saying nothing defined, President Obama being wishy washy, and Biden’s "Mubarak is not really a dictator" being mealy mouthed.

The stark contrast with the forthright, strong willed and no nonsense positions the Republicans have taken-especially Sarah Palin who, in this time of crisis, is showing who would be the better president. The question is, can we, Israel and the world wait two years for the necessary transition from w
eakness to strength?

"Blood on Bernanke's Hands" Over Rioting In Egypt. Chinese Warned Of Inflation From Commodity Speculation Leading To Calamity As Palin Also Pointed Out

Regular economics commentator on The British based financial website "The Market Oracle" Mike Shedlock voiced his opinion on the root cause of the civil strife in the Middle East, particulary the events in Egypt;

Rather commodity speculation is a result of piss poor monetary policies not only the Fed, but central bankers worl
dwide."

The Chinese cautioned Bernanke about this endless use of the printing press as they advised, with all common sense, that it would cause a rush of hot money into speculation and ramping up of cost inflation due to commodity buying and hoarding.

Leading Inexorably To Calamity As Palin Pointed Out

The endless printing of money by the Obama administration’s confirmed head of the Reserve Bank ,Bernanke, in a desperate attempt to kick start the American economy, has lead, as Shedlock rightly says, to inflation in commodities. This has led to higher prices and poverty-the natural result of inflation.

Sarah Palin urged a return to "Common sense" economics. Cutting spending, balancing the budget and getting America back on track through financial discipline.

if this, printing press splurge continues, the food riots will come to a neighbourhood near you courtesy of the Obama administration.

Also, if Islamic fundamentalists take over in the Middle East as a result of the rioting, food inflation may also not be the only thing exploding in America.

Can we wait two years for Palin? Will we have an inflationary bust followed by a massive depression?

One thing is certain, the iron laws of economics have not be repealed no matter what magical policies the Obama administration pursues in the name of the “redistribution” then candidate Obama advised “Joe The Plumber” he was go
ing to institute

Mid-East Crisis Is A Moral Revolution Which Presages Palin's Assault On American Moral Corruption 2012

Whilst not a desirable result of the various revolutionary events, for that is what they are, rocking the middle-East from Yemen to Egypt it would be highly understandable if the end result will be the installation of Islamic fundamentalist type governments across the region.

Who could blame people if, after thirty years, in the case of Egypt, of one party rule, of poverty, and perceived corruption of a once proud country-being the second biggest recipient of American aid after Israel, that patriotic Egyptians threw out their government and installed an Islamic one which had, as its main emphasis a renewal of a moral spirit?

The precedent for this is of course Iran whose people threw out the corrupt and violent regime of the Shah and also Afghanistan. Both events proved, in the long run disastrous to both their peoples, the cause of democracy and Western interests-the latter in blood, money and the moral high ground.

That revolutions can, and often do as history has shown time and time again, take a wrong term is the result of bottled up tensions at very real wrongs. The outrage is not necessarily a financial one, though of course that is a strong factor, as people can live in poverty as long as they see the possibility of economic growth and that their government is, in the main honest-India would be a prime example.

However, if there is poverty and moral corruption, then when the revolution breaks out the end result might very well be a turn to extreme religious radicalism. Before the end of communism that economic system would usually be the radical turn, but now, with no economic alternative, Islamic fundamentalism is the safety valve.

I say no alternative, however free market capitalism or mixed market capitalism under a democratic government is of course an alternative, but that is usually an evolutionary response. It may be that all these Middle-Eastern attempts at revolution go straight to the democratic style of government but, given the hostility to the West and to the moral corruption which abounds, that may not be the case. Even if it is, history has shown that democratic governments that take over after a revolution have so many problems, and have to deal with so many unfillable expectations that they quickly collapse into some sort of radical alternative.

Of course America is not going to undergo a violent revolution but, in the American sense, it is very possible that there will be a revolution in the political balance. This was presaged in the 2010 House election where the Democratic party lost over 60 seats-a staggering rejection of the Obama administration.

As part of that rejection on economic grounds mainly, there was also a strong social element as clearly pointed out by the rise of The Tea Party. This loosely structured organization has, as well as an economic element, a very strong moral element. This element has been seen e.g. in the rejection, wherever the community has had the opportunity to vote on the matter, of Gay marriage-even in ultra-liberal California.

The moral element, which is the true status quo of America, played a part in the re-election of G.W. Bush in 2004, but was submerged in the general anti-Bush feeling, promoted by an ultra-liberal media in 2008. That the Obama administration mis-read the underlying toneof the electorate was clearly shown just two years later.

If the Obama administration, and especially if the Beltway elite and main stream media continue to push for an ultra-liberal agenda (as they have via the Sate of the Union call for more “Big Government” then there should be no reason why the revolt against all they stand for, which surfaced in 2010, will not be further re-inforced with the Republicans capturing the senate and presidency in 2012.

Only one possible candidate, Sarah Palin, has, from the start, had the guts and wisdom, and clear sightedness to see the nature of the true America, mainly because she is a daughter of that fundamental nature.

If she runs for president on a moral crusade basis a 'renewing of the true spirit of America, a resurgence of American values" then that should strike exactly the right chord with a populace who will be ready to ignite their own spark of moral outrage, their own version of the Middle East revolution-but for American values against a corruption brought by a small East/West-Coast elite.

It is nonsensical, and yet another aspect of the liberal smear machine, to say that Palin has no policies-she has clearly set (see Palin's top 10 policy statements) out her economic vision. They do however admit that she has a "values' standpoint (which is undeniable even for them)-unfortunately for them, and their ilk, it is the unbeatable combination of moral values and common sense economics which will sweep away the detritus of the liberal past as "the plain people whom Lincoln so loved" reassert themselves and the
ir values in 2012 with Palin.

Steinem/NOW/Shakesville/Salon Readers & Hundreds Of Feminists Groups Rise Up In Anger Over Tracy Morgan/TNT Sexist Comment On Palin

On TNT During a pre-game chat ahead of the Miami Heat-New York Knicks clash, co-host Charles Barkley asked the actor, “Sarah Palin’s good looking, isn’t she?”

Morgan replied, "Let me tell you something about Sarah Palin, she's good masturbation material. The glasses and all of that... She is great masturbation material."

The reponse from women's groups across America like NOW and leading feminists like Gloria Steinem to this attack on a prominent woman was.....

Well it wasn't-deafening silence ensued.

The hypocrisy of the left reaches heights which the Tucson tragedy seemed to have made unreachable for the unjustified attacks on Palin saying she had "Blood on her hands".

Here we have a gross misogynist sexist crude comment live on air and leftist women shame themselves with their silence. The commenators at Salon shame themselves even further by supporting the general tone of Morgan's remark and even going further in crudeness.

The response of the left is "It is Palin's fault not Morgan's that he made the comment".

Imagine if a white southerner had made Morgan's remarks about a prominent black woman

These people lower themselves into a gutter where offal and urine runs, they have no shame and have not learned the lesson of the November elections. There is a slow train coming, slow but sure and the labor they are putting in whilst looking down at the great mass of ordinary folks from the great heights of their "progressive" eltism will be paid in hard currency.

Not Only Nostradamus But Scholarly Research Now Finds SHAKESPEARE Also Predicted Palin Would Be President in 2016

 By guest Editor A. Eritas

It may have been expected, perhaps, that such a prediction might be found amongst the works of so great a renowned seer but astonishingly the person considered to be amongst the greatest of writers WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE also predicted the ascension of Sarah Palin !

Shakespeare, writing almost 450 years ago left clear indications through his writings which contain a number of world famous quotes which, unmistakably and taken as a whole clearly point to only one person since the 16th century-the same century that Nostradamus made his predictions ! Did these two great minds somehow communicate together on such a world shaking matter?

Here are just some of the key phrases taken from Shakespeare’s works which no one can deny prove that this great mind somehow saw into the future and put his stamp of approval on the person to lead the new world to a newer world.

**************************************

[This passage can only refer to Sarah Palin]

“how noble in reason! how infinite in faculty! in form and moving how express and admirable! in action how like an angel! in apprehension how like a god! the beauty of the world " Hamlet quote (Act II, Sc. II).

[If there is one defining aspect of Palin’s personality it is, surely summed up in this passage]

"This above all: to thine own self be true" Hamlet quote (Act I, Sc. III).

[This passage refers of course to the many times Palin has been asked if she is running for President and which her natural humility has prevented her from replying positively (yet)]

"The lady doth protest too much, methinks". Hamlet ( Quote Act III, Sc. II).

[Again, an exemplary aspect of Palin’s character]

"And it must follow, as the night the day, thou canst not then be false to any man". (Hamlet Quote Act I, Scene III)."

[Here Shakespeare has, in a way which can only be described by Shakespeare himself “There are more things in Heaven and earth than dreamed of in your philosophy” seen into the future and the vile antics of MSNBC and the rest of the Lame Stream Media]

"I will speak daggers to her,". - (Hamlet Quote Act III, Sc. II).

[This passage surely refers to what would be one of the most important policies the Palin administration would pursue to regenerate America]

"The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers". - (Act IV, Scene II King Henry VI Pt.2)

[The following two passages can only refer the recession and unemployment which has been the key feature of the Obama administration]

"True is it that we have seen better days". - (Act II, Scene VII As You Like It)

"Now is the winter of our discontent". - (Act I, Scene I. (King Richard 111)

[And this passage sums up the courage that Palin has which is also a mark of her character and will enable her to provide the leadership necessary to heal the wounds, cure the malaise and make America once again the shining city on the hill]

"True nobility is exempt from fear". - (Act IV, Scene I King Henry VI Pt.2)

UPDATE;YES,Like Clockwork the Locusts,Led By Frum's Commentator,Descend[Before The Left Gets "All WEE-WEE'd Up (Obama) About WTF? (Palin On Greta) They Should Remember BFD ! (Biden)]

That didn't take long; The first negative comment, which of course takes no cognizance of the Obama/Biden examples below, shows up on the FrumForum (where else). More are starting to show up on the accumulation blog "Memeorandum". The blind stupidty of these people is beyond belief-but that is what PDS does.
*************************************************************************

Not that there will of course. It's OK for Obama to use colloquialisms of his own making which are vaguely scatalogical and "Uncle Joe" "It's just Joe being Joe" can do and say anything and get a media pass but woe betide Palin being normal in describing her puzzlement over President Obama's "Sputnik" reference.

Look for howls of faux outrage from the "progressive" blogosphere, the "lame Stream Media" as Palin so rightly called them and the Democratic party operatives (after they get their talking points as to how to dispose of Obama'/Biden's statements-I can save them the trouble-just avoid them and attack Palin as usual.)

Waves of hypocrisy forthcoming about Palin's "disrespect" for the President and the new "civil tone" which will be honored by them very much in the breech.

The really good thing will be seeing lib's head's explode and even more seeing those who are embargoing Palin sweat under not being able to co
mment.

Has MIA Mitt Romney Joined The Witness Protection Program?

Lets see, in the last two months we have had a changing of the guard in Congress with the House now under Republican control-i.e. the natural order of things restored. The Governorships now in a Republican majority.

Following on from the landslide in the House, President Obama is, effectively, a lame duck ceremonial president who can only cajole but not get anything radically leftist passed-that is if he even has an agenda (beyond getting re-elected).

We have had a SOTU address composed of exhortations and platitudes, and Sputnik in the sky dramatics, and a call for even more government intervention.

There was the terrible tragedy in Tucson and the ensuing left wing madness blaming respectively the Tea Party and, especially Sarah Palin and then, after the attempt to inflame public opinion failed, a hypocritical call from the left for "reasoned, calm debate."

Now it would be, surely, a reasonable expectation for Romney, considered by the left wing media to be the Republican's candidate of choice for 2012, to have made substantial statements across most, if not all of these issues-surely that’s what candidates are expected to do.

All that we have heard, for all that we have read and seen from Romney, is silence.

What galls most is the total silence from him when Palin was being unfairly savaged over Tucson. It seems to me that if he had made any statement at all defending a colleague it would have only enhanced his reputation with the base. But there seems a lack of moral backbone and a self interest which has trumped the sort of action which could only have assisted his long term prospects.

I can’t believe it can happen, and will do all I can to prevent, that Romney can go sleepwalking to the nomination whilst being MIA and after Palin has taken all the blows that a spearhead does.

Again, it is Palin, (and Bachman) who have led the charge on the lightweight fluff of the SOTU, with any sort of powerful statement from Romney invisible, in the main media.

All that has surfaced is Gover
nor Christie of New Jersey having a dinner meeting for Romney where tactics apparently were discussed.

If Romney believes that this behind the scenes politicking, this not taking any controversial positions, not defending his colleagues against vindictive attacks, will ensure his selection I think he is on the wrong path.
Certainly the amazing opinion poll showing Huckabee running even with Romney in New Jersey is an indication of this fact

If, through these machinations and inactivity he somehow does win the nomination I would be confident that on election day many millions will be absent from the voting booths, and on the similar witness protection program he appears to have been on.

Before The Left Gets "All WEE-WEE'd Up (Obama) About WTF? (Palin On Greta) They Should Remember BFD ! (Biden)

Left Given Up On Palin Rip Into Bachman-A Salutory Lesson For GOP Candidates With (Current) High Polling

The left, and "hoity toity" "conservatives" having given up on attacking Palin for self imposed, self-flagellation reasons, because of heeding the Dem's talking points "new civility" and because of sheer exhaustion have found new flesh to feed on.

Just look at the Alinsky rules( rule #5 "destroy with cruel satire/ridicule whether based on fact or not) radical spearheads Wonkette and Gawker attack dog websites vicious rounding on Michelle Bachman's "State of the Union" response yesterday.

The other reasons why there is a lull in the left/liberal/progressive/Democratic media attacks on Palin is there is a sense that, post Tucson that they went too far in ascribing personal blame to her for the shooting tragedy so they are, in the main lying low.

This hasn't stopped the occasional sniping or disgusting tabloid attacks on the Plain family but, compared to the immediate post Tucson vilification period Palin is relatively unattacked.

There is, in what Michelle Bachman is experiencing a salutary lesson for the prospective GOP '12 candidates and their supporters. If they don't believe for a second that the lack of attacks on them will cease and not come like a ferocious storm they are living in dreamland.

Until now Romney has been basically left alone (in fact he probably has had more criticism from the right than the left), Huckabee is occasionally chortled over as some sort of avuncular hayseed pulpit basher and Pawlenty as a "Mr. No Personality" whilst Gingrich gets a pass for being authoritative but also gets the occasional snarky allusion to his marital history.

If or when any of these putative front runners declares-or, worse for them, actually gets the nomination they and their supporters, who have been happy to see Palin undergo the worst sort of vilification imaginable, will be in for such a shock that they had better start building a basement shelter right now.

Those who remember 2008 will recall the left willing McCain on for the nomination, and when he received it, they turned the red hot furnace on him.

They must not be allowed to pick the GOP candidate for 2012 as the same game will be played.

There is only one person who has, for over two years, taken all the left can throw at her and who is still standing strong and the preferred candidate of the right's base, which, that base, will not be dictated to by the mainstream media.

Only Sarah palin is immune to the media onslaught that would normally follow the GOP's candidate selection, only she is armor plated as they have noting left to throw at her. Only she can run the 2012 campaign on the issues and future of America free from the distraction of having to deal with persona insult "revelations" and anything else the left would normally dredge up because they already have and it has failed.

These Alleged Humans Ran Media Stories About Todd Palin's Now Debunked "Affair" .They Deserve To Hear From You

HERE IS THE LINK

The Blog accumulator “ The Sarah Storm Report” has an archive of many, sadly not all, of the various Blogs/Media which ran with the National Enquirer "news story" alleging that Todd Palin had a relationship with a prostitute-the tawdry "details" are not worth revisiting.

They have subsequently been debunked, which result has of course not been reported in a degree comparable to the original "facts'. Sadly this to be expected of course given the hate of the Palin's by the left who will seize on anything, including attempts to make money off of them by making things up.

What is important however is that those who reprinted the original allegations and used them to tut tut or attack the Palin's,on no real rounds whatsoever, should have their disgusting comments exposed to the light of day. which light, in the glare of the subsequent truth shows their comments to be the evil, disgusting things they are.

Their comments-and we are not talking g about comments on blogs which can be excused for being 'tales told by an idiot, full of sound and fury signifying nothing' are all the worse for having been thought out and created in a pseudo or real mainstream media environment-thus giving them an alloy of "truth".

These alleged humans should not be allowed to get away with it-it is totally wrong to expect an apology of course, but if they are emailed and any dent is made in their armor of hate, then it is an exercise of value- not least because they might, just possibly, think about the results of their actions next time-and you can be assured there will be a next time as they are all possessed by PDS.

Here is the link (at the top of this page)list of people who commented on the lies about Todd Palin-let them know your thoughts-I have, and their replies of self justification are an unbelievable exercise in sophistry.

Palin, As Popular As Ever Even With Left's Unprecedented Attacks ,Gets Roaring Reception In Sold Out Address In Texas-

The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal reports that Sarah Palin's address to a packed audience at a fundraiser for the Lubbock Christian School was greeted by "frequent applause and cheers".

In the full report detailed below the standout quote from an attendee who was asked what impressed about Palin is:

“Her enthusiasm, her love for America, her honesty and her core values of representing the people and not just special interests.”

This reception, coming hard on the heels of one of the most intense campaigns of villification and now slander against Palin by the mainstream liberal media, proves that the public are not taken in by the left's vile antics.

This was further reinforced by the latest Rasmussen poll which shows Palin actually having risen in favor as a major contender Republican choice for president.

The day will come when the media will have to repay the terrible debt they are running up with the American public in lost credibility-in the meantime palinsails onwards to her positive destiny basking in the deserved adulation of audiences like those in Lubbock today.

******************************************************************

"Despite the heightened level of security concerns, the Lubbock Christian School fundraiser featuring Sarah Palin garnered ample support from area residents and created a unique connection between Alaska and Texas.
Palin, former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate, addressed about 1,400 people Monday night during LCS’ annual fundraiser at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center.
Palin said Texas and Alaska are alike because they are “good beacons of freedom
and share similar values and work ethic, said Kristen Vander-Plas, president of the Lubbock Christian University College Republicans.
She said she was impressed by Palin’s willingness to go forward with her fundraiser appearance with added security despite the recent shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords in Arizona.
Many in the audience were LCS alumni, Vander-Plas said, and the audience as a whole was receptive to Palin’s message as was evident in their frequent applause and cheers.
Some, like Bob Wood, were drawn to the event through sheer curiosity.
He said he came to hear Palin although he does not always agree with what she says.
Others were avid Palin fans wanting to see the woman who made a huge splash in American politics in 2008.
“I believe in Sarah Palin and what she represents for America,” said Linda Hunt of San Angelo, who won free tickets for the event. “Her enthusiasm, her love for America, her honesty and her core values of representing the people and not just special interests.”
Still, LCS alumni and sponsors said the main purpose of the evening was raising money for the school — having Palin present was an added bonus.
Kimberly Chitwood of Minnix Commercial Construction said someone as well-recognized as Palin at the annual fundraiser is a rare opportunity to attract people and support for the school.

State Of The Union: If Obama Has Shifted To The Right-Then We Might As Well Have A Real Republican,Like Palin, In 2012

America is returning to the natural equilibrium of being a center-right country after electing a leftist president due to a most unusual chain or circumstances. The majority of presidents have been from the right apart from an occasional interregnum due to wars usually.

The Bush years were no exception to this general rule and the wars plus a rabid ultra-liberal media running unchecked foster a climate of radical youth activism which helped elected a Democratic party Congress prior to the Obama ascendancy.

However, with Bush and Cheney gone and the public having had two years to many of leftist rule, the election in 2010 of a Republican House, and a majority of Governorships, was the first step in returning America to its natural state of things. The Senate and presidency in 2012 (along with the Supreme Court majority) will be the final act.

President Obama is "triangulating" as indicated in his State of the Union address-moving to the center. This is as per President Clinton's example-frankly, he has no choice of course, as he can't get any legislation through Congress and, not being an idiot, has seen which way the wind is blowing as regards any re-election chances he may have.

But this beggars the question, why in 2012 should the public elect a pseudo-Republican (which his erstwhile "progressive supporters" heartily agree he is, when America can have a real Republican president, like Palin for example, who can get conservative legislation through a conservative Congress?

This should be the overriding question of the 2012 election-it seems unlikely that Obama's coat tails would be long enough to bring in a Democratic House after the shellacking of 2010 even if he was re-elected so-why bother re-electing him at all?

UPDATE;Rasmussen confirms; [Latest Poll Shows Palin/Huckabee At 40% For GOP Nomination-Romney at 17%. Clear Sailing For Palin]

Further to the Washington Post poll as detailed below which shows the Palin/Huckabee vote at 40% and Romney at 17% the latest Rasmussen poll confirms the general trend.

Rasmussen has Palin/Huckabee at 36% and Romney at 24%. According to Conservatives4Palin Rasmussen is using a different set of internals which disfavor Palin/Huckabee as they poll a lower number of self described Evangelicals.

Even so, and allowing for this alternative methodology the result is still the same margin of error wise. If Huckabee does not run then Palin has a substantial lead and, based on the three opening states primaries; Iowa/New Hampshire/South Carolina, she should win 2 out of three and be well on her way to the nomination.

Interestingly, since the Rasmussen poll of November 2009 Romney has stayed the same at 24%, Palin is up one to 19% and Huckabee has dropped 12% to 17%. This shows that, even with all the mass of negative publicity the left generated against Palin after the Arizona tragedy the people who really count,t he Republican voters, still view her, and her moral foundations, which they view as Huckabee also sharing, unchanged ,and what they want in their candidate.

*************************************************
AS POSTED PREVIOUSLY

In a new Washington Post poll

21% of respondents advised they would support Huckabee 19% Palin and 17% Romney as detailed below.

No one else got into double figures and the latest left wing media selections for the GOP of the month Thune and Daniels hardly rated at all.

The 40% shared between Palin and Huckabee-a statistical tie are the only poll results that matter at this point in time for the 2012 election. The polls showing Palin 10 points behind Obama for example, two years out are meaningless as the Reagan polling below shows.

All that matters for Palin is,should she choose to run, how well will she do in the early primaries. Clearly, despite all the massive negative left wing media attacks she is still very popular with the base (80% in polls).

Polling has also shown that should Huckabee choose not to run, a strong possibility, then Palin is his supporters next choice. The numbers then, at this point, and should Huckabee not run, are very much on her side. Even Andrew Sullivan in a moment of lucidity when the PDS uterus fog lifted, said this week that he thinks the "nomination is still hers to lose" even given the media attacks and supposed general low poll rating.

37. (ASKED OF LEANED REPUBLICANS) I’m going to read a list of possible candidates for the Republican nomination for president in 2012. Jewish Lesbians 4 Palin And Other Surprising Palin Support Groups (SATIRE ALERT)

That there are a substantial number of Palin support groups is hardly surprising given her huge following (over two million on Facebook alone)
The blog "Texas for Sarah Palin" has a drop down list (full list at http://blogs4palin.blogspot.com/ ) of some of this myriad of groups which range from Vets4Palin/Michiganders4Palin/Mom's4Palin and some obvious and some perhaps some not so obvious Blogging supporters.
It can be a certitude that this list as partially captured in this snapshotis but a small percentage of Palin support groups.
What is surprising however are the Palin support groups which are, so far, flying under the radar. In the interest of giving them the wider audience they deserve and to show, in a small way, that the mindless vile prejudice the vast majority of their group, who don't support Palin, exhibit in stark contrast to the loving kindness of this, no doubt persecuted minority, here are some of the "hidden" Palin support groups.

Abandoning "F" Word, New Leftist Civility Condemning "Centerist" Obama:They Now Say "Intercourse Obama"

The upcoming State Of The Union Address appears to be the last straw for the "progressive" i.e. liberal left. All their dreams of a new "Hope & Change"
progressive America lie shattered at their feet. How is that "Hopey Changey" thing working out for ya Kossacks?

The snarky comments, of the sort usually reserved for the bilious poison at Sarah Palin, is now focused on President Obama who is "triangulating" to the center, which announcement apparently, will be the main focus of his address to Congress.

This address marks, they seem to agree amongst themselves (quite a feat in itself which shows the real depth of their anger) the final proof that, all along, Obama was really, and variously, a slave to "Big Business", a Republican, Reagan in disguise, a hoodwinker, and etc.

Their most visible attacks are on themselves, in a mighty showing of self-flagellation- for ever having been taken in by the "shape shifter". And of course their are the vows never to work for him again, never to contribute to the DNC (who are responsible for foisting Obama on their innocent backs)again
and never to be fooled again (fat chance).

One has to, no I can't help it, revel in the Schadenfreude. We told them during the long 2008 campaign that they were buying a bill of goods for an empty suit, but so strong was the Bush hatred that whatever bit of commonsense the possessed was eaten away at by the vile poison that circulated in their veins.

The positive things from all this rude awakening are that the youth vote will stay at home in traditional numbers in 2012, and even if Palin is the nominee the progressives will be so embittered they may not be able to rise to the usual standard of enthusiasm to defeat her. They may in fact take a "it will serve them, the DNC, right if she gets elected, which would be grand of course.

The real facts of the matter are that no matter how left wing Obama is, which he is, he saw that with the "shellacking" last November that unless he ditches the left, he will also go down in flames. The left has nowhere to go, except into bitter hiding, but they represent such a small percentage of the electorate Obama no doubt figures he can more than make up for their loss by gaining Independents.

Here are just a few comments to savor (there are plenty more across the raving left blogosphere for those who can be bothered to look) as the left views their idols feet of clay.
FIREDOGLAKE
"I’ll admit it: Obama bamboozled me. I voted for him for the express purpose of keeping Hillary Rodham Clinton and the DLC out of the White House. So what did we get? You guessed it, the DLC.
I have no intention of lifting a finger for Obama or any other Democrat next year. Maybe they can get the corporations that fund Third Way to do their phone-banking and door-to-door work."

"Can we start calling him President I’m-Really-a-Republican-Whore now?"

WONKETTE (In an, even for them, particularly vicious attack)

"raise your hand if you thought that you'd be shitty drunk on a saturday night in 2011 fuming on our wonkettes about the sellout faux liberal negro muslin president who was too centrist once he moved into the white house?"

"Maybe we shouldn't say Fuck You to Obama. To show a bit of respect for the office perhaps we could say Intercourse You?"

Whilst all this is enjoyable the enjoyment is tempered by the fact that America had to endure two years of this administration, and even more sadly another (although neutered) two years. But on the other hand there is light at the end of the tunnel.

UPDATE 4,310,062;We're Number 5,082,948 On The "Alexa" Bloglist (Top 3.3%) UPDATE;2.8% And Rising)Thanks.

According to the Alexa Bloglist survey This Blog, including under the previous name "Recovering Liberal" is poised to break into the 4 million places category.

That's from being in the seven million category just a few months ago. If, as Google advises, there are about 150,000,000 Blogs extant then, for a blog which has been only going for a year that's a pretty rapid rise. Of course five million is not in the Huffington Post area but, since I don't have the resources in staff, and money (my begging bowl so far has raised exactly $0.00) that Ariana has, then all in all it is not too bad going.

There are a number of reasons for this "rapid rise", well I think it is anyway. First and foremost this blog unashamedly supports Sarah Palin. Fortunately that is a topic which garners lots of hits from friends and foe alike.

Secondly I am blogging from an opposition to the government point of view-which always gives lots of things to blog about-defending a government is a whole lot harder, as the leftist blogs like Kos etc are finding out.

Thirdly I have been hugely lucky in having mentors and supporters, especially from the people at Sarah Palin Information Blog who have taken me under their wind and offered guidance and given me a spot on their roster so to speak.

Fourthly, I have lived a fair while and have, as Aneurin Bevan said "plucked wisdom from the hedgerows of experience" so I, hopefully have passed the young radical and naive stage, and can view the world and its ways from a mature framework of mind. It appears what little wisdom I have garnered is finding some degree of receptive response, for which I am truly appreciative.

My goal is to build on that and thank, especially, the 9 kind souls who have, for reasons known only to themselves, decided to follow this blog. I will labor away as best I can to get to the magic <100,000 placing where, according to Alexa, the big boys kick in, and at that point this blog might become a full time endeavour with a team etc.

Onwards and upwards (hopefully) and my sincere thanks to you who honor my efforts by looking in from time to time.

Terrible Terrible Words Lead To Being Thrown Out Of A Window

Writing a Blog exposes one mostly to the joys but sometimes to the trials of the English language. There are certain challenges that arise constantly though. For example, finding the exact word which conveys the core thought one wants to express whilst not repeating the same word twice in a sentence.

This word hunt exposes one to more words and expressions in the course of Blog work than is usual and it is not without its hazards. Who knew Blogging could be so hazardous?

Every person is different of course and words that annoy one will have no effect on another, or they could find them positively lovely to the ear. To them they flow, as Hamlet advised his visiting troupe of actors, "trippingly off the tongue". However, to me the following words grate terribly to my ear, and trip over themselves off the tongue.

DEFENESTRATION; defined as "A throwing of a person out of a window". This word is not hard to pronounce and doesn't have a harsh sound, but it annoys me greatly. It is, frankly, a stupid word created, who knows why, for a ridiculous phrase. It is simpler, surely, to say "They threw him out of the window" rather than, and less pretentiously, "He was killed in an act of defenestration." Defenestration should be defenestrated.

EXECRABLE; (Detestable) "Exeek" grates but actually by itself it's not too bad, but somehow, adding "crabble" to it makes it ugly. Oddly, "Exec" as in executive sounds fine I think.

EXECRABLENESS; (the noun) is pushing it a bit too far though. It is in fact execrable.

OBLOQUY; (Abusive language) A horrible word-on the tongue, in the ear, too look at and to pronounce. Away with it forthwith.

HIRSUTE; (Excessive hairiness). An odd looking word which generally is used satirically. But the real object of satire is the oh so clever "satirist" using it instead of simply saying "hairy".

PEREMPTORILY; (Putting an end to all debate). Just annoying to use in common discussion-away with it also.

PHENOMENON; Said to be the most commonly wrongly spelled word. I always have to correct it after using spell checker when I type "phenomanon" (as I suspect most do too). Perhaps we should just change the spelling and be done with it?

GOODGE; This is not a word, rather it is the name of a tube/subway stop on the Northern Line in London. I hated seeing it every morning on the way to work. It is ugly and should be changed-I must write to London Transport and tell them how I have been scarred for life by this combination of letters,

Apart from this series of words, and a number of others which don't come to mind straight away- a classic case of repression, there are a number of phrases and words which also are execrable and should be banished to the outer darkness e.g.;

PHENOMENOLOGY; Whenever I see this word, particularly when followed by "of", and, even more scarily, when my eye catches "Exposition" “Jacques Derrida" "deconstruction" I quickly turn away as total befuddlement and boredom ensues if reading of deliberate obfuscation continues.

EXISTENTIAL ( I am still looking for a simple, clear and definitive definition of this word) CRISIS/COGNITIVE DISSONANCE/TRIANGULATION.
All three have had well more than their fifteen minutes and should depart quietly into the night.

As I said, these are simply my personal hates-amongst so much joy-. Readers are invited to list theirs in the comments section so that I, and others, can know what best to avoid in our mutual quest for the bon mot.

Media's "Boycott Palin February" Plan Collapsing As Axis Of Bedevil Fractures Over Cash/Salacious Sex

The leftist media, who for over two years have engaged in an unrelenting, merciless and, as shown in their gross dereliction of duty linkage of Palin to the terrible deaths in Arizona, rotten attacks on Sarah Palin are split asunder on the merits of their latest efforts to nullify her.

As I reporte
d the left media, having seen that their campaign of vilification and destruction has only toughened Palin, whilst ensuring her supporters circle the wagons around her ever tighter have finally realized that all their efforts are in vain.

The best illustration of this is the remarkable Republican candidate preferential presidential poll over at "Free Republic" where Palin,(as reported by Gary P. Jackson at "A time For Choosing" got 81% support with no one else with a mile of her-obviously a defensive reaction to the media attacks on her.

What they have done is to make Palin armor plated if she runs for the presidency as they, the left, have shot all their arrows and really have nothing left. After their best, or rather worst, efforts over Arizona Palin simply advised she will not go away and will not shut up.

She has, in effect used the Ali "Rope a dope" strategy against them-taking all their best shots, giving a flurry in return off the ropes now and then, and finally, when the left has worn itself out, she lands a knockout blow right on the jaw. (metaphorically speaking of course).

So now they advise they are picking up their toys and going home. Charles Blow, Maddow, and now Dana Millbank advise they won't comment on her-Millbank for the entire month of February. Millbank also called on his fellow lefties to join him in this silent crusade.

He picked up some support. “ Outside The Beltway“- a sarcastic elitist blog is on board, “ Skippy The Bush Kangaroo” which, as childish as the blog title befits, advised they will do it "to piss Palin off". She’s sure to take notice of that earth shaking happening. Some blog called "The Impolitic agreed totally with Millbank, and Pamela Leavey at “The Democratic Party” will not mention Palin in February and "perhaps even longer".

This is of course wonderful news for Palin and the wider public too. For the first time Plain's statements will be heard without the distorting, sarcastic, hateful comment filter that the New York Times, Washington Post and the leftist blogosphere usually treat them with.

Frankly it would be great if all these assorted critics didn't mention her ever again-if only.

However, sad to report, the left has fractured on the great Palin cold shoulder crisis amongst them. Andrew "bareback uterus" Sullivan ( I will not link to him as readers might get HIVes) will report in February along with he advises, oddly, "The National Enquirer". Perhaps he is expecting the long delayed sensational report that Palin is not the mother of her Down syndrome child that he has been looking forwards to for so long.
"The Reaction” calls the boycott "silly, impotent, irresponsible". Interestingly "impotent' when used by palin was a word the left pilloried her for-but there wouldn’t be a word in the dictionary which, if used by her, they wouldn't find a way of attacking her about.

New York Magazine's Dan Amira doesn't commit one way or the other but describes one journalist who "took his own life" when trying not to write about Palin. Weigal at Slate, and Alex Alvarez at Mediate won't take a position, Weigal effectively throwing in the towel on behalf of the left, by advising the reason why the number of pages about Palin is dropping is because the left believes she will "never be elected" but Chris Weigant at Huffington Post straddles the fence- agreeing with Millbank in principle, but will still write about Palin.

That would be expected as Huffpost garners tremendous quantities hits on its special Palin "Big News" page where juveniles rant and rave about her in response to negative story after negative story.

At least the despicable Gawker and Wonkette blogs are honest in the crassness. They admit it is all about eyeballs on the page and as Wonkette says, in a vaguely racist manner "ching ching it' all about money.”

So a slightly disappointing second day of the great Palin silent February mission but we can still be grateful for the self negating efforts of those who will stick to their non-Palin month. The concern for them is that all that poison will be bottled up for four weeks which might be severely deleterious to their health-we ca
n only wish them well.

Palin Played The Ali/Foreman Rope A Dope Game With The, Now Exhausted, Leftist Media And Won.Update; Washpo/NYT Hacks Give UpToo

Washington Post's Dana Milbank has given up the ghost and decided that February will be "Sarah Palin Free Month" for him, and he advises that Ross Douthat at the NYT thinks along those lines too. This is getting better all the time-if the hard core liberal press, as represented by the Washpo/NYT axis of bedevil won't comment at all on Palin, then she wins hands down and her comments will be reported by honest brokers without distortion.

Prior to his 1974 epic battle" the Rumble In the Jungle" with Big George Foreman, rated the most formidable puncher of all time, Muhammad Ali was not only written off as having no chance whatsoever but there were calls for the fight to be cancelled.Long experienced sportswriters expressed genuine concern that Ali might in fact be killed in the ring.

Foreman had won the title by destroying the champ, Joe Frazier, in rounds-knocking him down   times and a frightening display of awesome power, no wonder there were fears for Ali's life.

Ali trained for the upcoming fight by having a weighted ball thrown at his body for hour after hour, so by the time of the fight he was toughened up in his midsection to an extraordinary degree.

For the first seven rounds of the fight Ali spent most of the time leaning against the ropes (which had been specially loosened so he could lean way back on them) and with his hands covering his head, he let Foreman pound away at his body with huge, flailing blows.

Just before the end of each round Ali would unleash a flurry of blows to Foreman' head and then, at the start of the next round he would go back on the ropes again. Whilst absorbing this huge punishment Ali kept up a nonstop chatter "you ain't got nothing George" and "is that your best shot George? C'mon, hit me harder". The disconcerting effect on Foreman seeing his best shots being disregarded, which would have finished off any other fighter was disconcerting to say the least. By the eighth round Foreman's blows, in the stifling African heat, were little more than pitter patter efforts. No only was he exhausted, dehydrated, disconcerted but he had no idea what to do.

At that point Ali unleashed a flurry which saw Foreman back off and, whilst doing so, he got caught up in the ropes. Ali unleashed a shot to the jaw just as Foreman untangled himself and, totally exhausted, he went down for the count, barely able to lift his head as Ali became champion again.

The Ali/Foreman confrontation has turned into a perfect metaphor for the Palin versus the left media confrontation-another David and  Goliath battle, with the "David" being, once again written off.

On the face of it, one lone woman should have no chance whatsoever against the massed forces of the left. The Democratic Party, their allies in the media, the "progressive" blogosphere, the Hollywood denizens, the television commentators, comedians, talk show hosts, feminists-all lined up against her in a previously unseen massive, and constant attack, for over two years.

Since she appeared seemingly out of nowhere the "Foreman" of the left has rained blow upon blow at her. With her back to the ropes constantly Palin has taken all their best shots and comes bouncing back during each round, or rather news cycle and instead, as previous "champions" have done, hitting the canvas, she unleashes a flurry of blows in return and returns for the next round undaunted.

A fascinating turn of events has now come into play which again mirrors the Ali/Foreman fight. The left has unleashed their most massive series of blows yet, dumping every sort of  innuendo tying Palin into the Arizona tragedy-even though there was never a shred of evidence anything she did, or said, had any influence on the shooter.,When she,,rightly,,defended herself, they parsed her every word and attacked venomously again. But Palin, like Ali, kept talking back at then "I'm not going away" " I'm not going to shut up".

And, all of a sudden, there are signs of exhaustion on the part of her enemies. They, like Foreman, have seen their best shots having no effect, and like him, they have run out of ideas on what to do next. A perusal of the left wing media now sees comments like "I am sick of reading about Palin" "Why are we discussing her" "I wish she would go away" "I am not going to read anything more about her". Where an article attacking Palin would, a year ago, get thousands of comments attacking her, the number is dropping dramatically. Even the scandal blogs like Gawker or Wonkette or the radical, execrable, leftist blog Daily Kos readers are commenting they are sick of reading even made up scandals about the Palin's.

it is not just the blogosphere where this resignation is taking place. Charles Blow at the New York Times advises he will not write anything further about Palin, Rachel Maddow at MSNBC said she would not discuss Palin in her show, Mika Brzezinski, also on MSNBC glum facedly discussed Palin, clearly under sufferance, and doesn't want to talk about her anymore.

This advice, that Palin will not be written or commented about has spread to a number of other high profile media operatives. Nick Stefanovich at Nerve Blog made it his New Year Resolution not to discuss Palin any more (whilst discussing her of course), Gail Collins at The New York times refused to discuss Palin at all in respect of Arizona (whichis of course most welcome-long may she and all the NYT hacks not mention Palin's name)

The winner is, of course, Palin. The media have done their best, or rather their worst, and she is still standing-they are reduced to saying "she is finished" (we heard the same wishful thinking after she resigned as Governor and any number of times subsequently). She has her core followers (which they grudgingly agree gives her credibility) and her apparent low standing in the polls is no worse than Reagan's when he was much closer to the presidential election so she can make that gap up.

This is all great news for Palin. From now on, more and more, her stamements can reach the American public unfiltered and undistored by the left wing media as long as the keep ignoring her.

The clear messages from all this are, firstly, a life lesson-as Churchill said, "never never give up." Secondly, Palin is armor plated for a presidential run-there is nothing the media can say that has not been said about her derogatively, so from now on she can concentrate on policy and not worry what the media says. No other prospective candidate can say that. If someone other than Palin got the nomination all the rubbish that has been thrown at her will start on them, and they will not have two years to combat it.

It is just like watching the Ali/Foreman fight in its final stages, all that remains is for Palin to deliver the knockout blows by getting the nomination and the presidency against all the odds, having beaten off the previously undefeated, frightening to everyone else except her, liberal Beltway elite champ.
