The Worst Election Campaign Ever-88 More Days Of Partisan Negativity? No Thanks
It's not too late to bring back the McCain/Palin team which makes the current effort look sad.
I have been very involved with producing a fund raising concert for the charity I volunteer for. Dealing with a team, artists, the theater owners/sound systems, media is a time consuming all encompassing thing as anyone who has undertaken such a project would testify (if they have any brain cells left when it is all over).
Delighted to advise all costs were covered and there was enough left over to cure one person of leprosy, which was the aim of the project
This hiatus also enabled me to stand back from the political fray. Viewed from not having a dog in the race I can honestly say this is the most boring, negative, destructive, off the issues, puerile election I have ever seen.
I have been watching/participating in presidential campaigns since the rarefied intellectual campaigns of Adlai Stevenson, but watching Biden's gaffe stricken performance and Romney's efforts suggested to me that to spend three months listening to more of the same is beyond my capacity for self-inflicted pain.
I am switching off blogging till after the election, not having Palin as a major speaker at Tampa was the last straw and a major insult to her mass of supporters.Frankly I just can't stand the pathetic partisanship and media distortion, and at this point I hope to be able to support Sarah as she progresses, hopefully to 2016, after November..

PPP (D.Kos) Polling Gets Wisconsin Wrong-One Flop After Another
Here's PPP (D) Polling (the Daily Kos) pollster's final poll for the GOP Wisconsin Senate primary. They said their poll had elements which "bode well for Hovde"
PPP's final poll on the Republican primary for Senate in Wisconsin continues to find a three way toss up: Eric Hovde's at 27%, Tommy Thompson's at 25%, Mark Neumann's at 24%, and even Jeff Fitzgerald isn't that far behind the rest of the pack at 15%.
And here's the result from Politico which has declared Thompson the winner with over 97% reporting
Thompson 34.2
Hovde 30.7
Neumann 22.7
Fitzgerald 15.0
They got the winner, Thompson's result wrong by 9 points-way beyond the margin of error and way beyond any excuses except incompetence. This is the outfit which wrote that "Perry's candidate (Dewhurst) will defeat Palin's candidate (Cruz).Their final poll had Cruz at 52% and he went on to win with 57%

After Trashing Sarah Palin, GOP Establishment Uses Palin to Defend Ryan
Do
you remember the days after John McCain lost? Remember how the
Republican establishment treated Sarah Palin? They criticized her
clothes. They accused her of spending too much on clothes with
campaign funds and then accused her of trying to take those clothes
despite them being lent to her to wear on the campaign trail as they
suggested she was a white-trash dresser. Remember who the
establishment working for the McCain camp accused her of destroying
the campaign and outed her on many of the things she had done putting
a twist on it to make her look even worse?
Well, think about that and then read how the Republican establishment is using Sarah Palin to defend Paul Ryan.
The LA Times writes:
Longtime friends and campaign workers for Arizona Sen. John McCain have been talking to Vanity Fair about what Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's candidacy as vice president did for the GOP ticket in 2008.
"A Little Shop of Horrors," said one unnamed aide.
Perhaps they want to keep the governor -- still a hot-button favorite among social conservatives -- off the ticket in 2012?
In a just-published piece by Todd Purdum in the August Vanity Fair, McCain aides said they still suffer a kind of survivor's guilt. (An earlier version of this post misspelled the author's last name as Purdam.)
"They can't quite believe that for two frantic months last fall, caught in a Bermuda Triangle of a campaign, they worked their tails off to try to elect as vice president of the United States someone who, by mid-October, they believed for certain was nowhere near ready for the job, and might never be," Purdam writes.
A former reporter for the New York Times and husband of former Clinton press secretary Dee Dee Myers, Purdam has a few nuggets of news. Reports of tension between Palin and McCain are, well, true.
She maintained "only the barest level of civil discourse" with Tucker Eskew, the operative assigned to be her chief minder, Purdam reports. Mark McKinnon, a longtime McCain admirer and a former Democrat who told insiders he would never work against Barack Obama in the general election, signed on to be Palin's "whisperer," the calming influence. And Obama, on learning of Palin's selection, said Palin would never have time to get up to speed. "I don't care how talented she is, this is really a leap," said Obama, telling aides it had taken him four months to learn how to be a national candidate.
But for the most, the piece reads more like juicy political speculation than news. Many of the quotes are from aides who would rather not be named. And it's hard to read the title -- "It Came From Wasilla" -- as anything but an insult, at least to anyone who's a person who came from somewhere.
Palin refused to talk to Vanity Fair for the piece. At work on her own book about her life -- to be published jointly by HarperCollins and the Bible-publishing house Zondervan -- the self-described pit bull-with-lipstick from Alaska will get plenty of ink for her rebuttal.
In the meantime, here come the knives.
This e-mail is from the Republican establishment after trashing Palin after McCain lost:
Dear Conservative,
If you're like me, you were both stunned and pleased to see Mitt Romney choose a running mate as bold and conservative as Paul Ryan. Paul Ryan is one of the leading lights in the conservative movement and has done great service for our cause.
Now the real battle begins. We know exactly what the Radical Left has in store for Paul Ryan--they'll do exactly what they did to Sarah Palin. The Left (aided by the Liberal Media) will throw everything but the kitchen sink at Paul Ryan in the most relentless, vicious, personal way possible. They will try to smear his name, his family, and his record in order to strangle his candidacy before it gets off the ground. We can't let that happen. Not this time. We need your help.
You remember what they did to Sarah Palin: trying to find everything they could on her, attacking her family, calling her the most vile names imaginable, even questioning if she was the mother of her own child. If you don't think the same thing is being planned for Paul Ryan even as we speak, well, you're in for a big surprise on Monday.
.
.
The liberal group Act Blue has already launched a "Stop Paul Ryan" fund dedicated to running ads smearing Ryan's record. And the Obama campaign has been putting out assaults on Ryan all weekend, accusing him of not caring about women. And trust me, they've got a lot more bile where that came from.
Here's the thing--we shouldn't be surprised by any of this. Whether you're talking about Dan Quayle, Robert Bork, Clarence Thomas, or Sarah Palin, this is what the Left always does to conservatives when they appear on the scene!
Here at DefendPaulRyan.com, we are committed to fighting back. Our plan is to run TV and online ads in battleground states where funds allow, introducing Paul Ryan on OUR terms, not on the Democrats' terms or those of their buddies in the liberal media.
We will respond to every single charge with FACTS, we will disseminate the truth to a growing email list, and we will run the online and TV ads in battleground states where funds allow. We are not just going to sit around and watch another conservative get slimed while we sit idly by, wringing our hands like there's nothing we can do.
There is A LOT that we can do to fight back. Donate $35, $50, or even $100 right now to join us.
I don’t know about you, but I swelled with pride yesterday when Paul Ryan walked out on the deck of that aircraft carrier and told his story. That’s what a leader looks like, and that’s what the American people are looking for. Barack Obama and the Democrats do not have a record that they can run on, and they know it. The only way for them to win up to this point has been to smear Romney, and now Paul Ryan.
That cannot be allowed. We must defend this good man.
Just so you know, I've been a mayor, an ambassador, a HUD undersecretary under Jack Kemp, State Treasurer, Ohio Secretary of State and a successful businessman, author and educator. I’ve been through a lot of campaigns.
I know exactly what’s coming for Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney. We cannot sit back and wait for the Left to attack. The time to act is now.
I’m ready to go to battle. Will you join me?
Sincerely,

Video;Palin Shows Class & Dignity;Supporting Ryan After He Dissed Her Twice
Here is Sarah Palin showing true class and dignity in an interview with Shannon Bream where she is asked about Paul Ryan and supporting the new team..
Contrast this with the stab in the back attacks from the ex-McCain team with the "Game Change" hatchet job. Contrast this with Romney hiring Kevin Madden who has been another Palin attacker. Contrast this with Paul Ryan
attending the premier of the game Change movie with and his silence when Palin was viciously attacked by being unfairly linked with the Tucson tragedy.
The election period will pass and there may well be a new team required for 2016, if that were the case it would be foolish to, once again, run with a Beltway candidate and people who don't support their colleagues, unlike Palin who in this video declares her "100% support for Romney/Ryan.
These are the views of a prominent conservative about VP nominee Paul Ryan as backed by linked references.
They are not necessarily my views as, with this ticket, and the opposition I don't have a dog in the race-for the first time since I have been voting actually. However, if Romney loses then these may have been contributing factors and it will be interesting, if that happens, to see which may have been the most influential and which to avoid in 2016.
Here's another view;
"The attendance at the Premiere of "Game Change" may not be a "Game-Changer" but it is one that Ryan should put to bed at once. It was a foolish thing to do, but if there is any way to graciously put it aside, they should do so. If left unanswered, this will haunt Romney and Ryan as Obama's people use this during Sept and Oct to sow discord and push the meme of the GOP and Romney hating women."
And another;
"Way more important then attending the smear movie is why both men stayed silent during Tucson? For that matter, why did 99% of Republicans?
They never had to answer for that. The truth is that they liked that she was blamed for murder. They wanted her destroyed and out of the way, and this helped to achieve that goal.
But they are honorable men, we are told."

Palin Announces Support For Romney/Ryan;Full Statement
Congratulations to Mitt Romney on his choice of Congressman Paul Ryan as his running mate. President Obama has declared that this election is about “two fundamentally different visions” for America. Goodness, he’s got that right. Our country cannot afford four more years of Barack Obama’s fundamentally flawed vision. We must now look to this new team, the Romney/Ryan ticket, to provide an alternate vision of an America that is fiscally responsible, strong, and prosperous – an America that understands and is proud of her exceptional place in the world and will respect those who fight to secure that exceptionalism, which includes keeping our promises to our veterans.
When I think about the direction our country is rapidly drifting in, I can’t help but look at California as a cautionary tale. The Golden State once boasted the entrepreneurial innovation of Silicon Valley, the American creative engine of the arts, economically powerful and beautiful cities from San Francisco to San Diego, and fertile farmlands that helped feed the nation. Now it is descending into financial ruin accompanied by an exodus of middle class Californians leaving for other states. As one writer put it, California’s “fastest-growing entity is government and its biggest product is red tape.
”Obama’s vision for America will make the rest of the country look like California, minus the beautiful scenery and warm weather.Obama’s America is today’s California – complete with $100 billion taxpayer funded bullet trains to nowhere; out of control environmental extremists who have destroyed family farms and left some of the most fertile farm land in America fallow in order to protect a three inch fish; permanent high unemployment; government policies hostile to small business job creators; crippling high taxes; an abysmal real estate market; bloated government that wastes taxpayer money; endless budget shortfalls due to massive unfunded liabilities; city after city declaring bankruptcy; and a state government run by, in the words of one Wall Street Journal writer, “a brothel of environmentalists, lawyers, public-sector unions and legislative bums.”We can’t afford Obama’s vision. Our children can’t afford it. Today we are over $15 trillion in debt and running up trillion dollar budget deficits year after year for as far as the eye can see.
And our “leaders” have no plan to stop it! President Obama and this Congress don’t even have the fundamental blueprint—a budget!—to outline where they intend to take us as they merrily roll along with their out of control spending and constant increases of our debt “limit.” Our debt to China alone is more than we can ever hope to pay off in multiple generations. Such debt and dependence on foreign nations weakens us in countless ways. And yet our government keeps on spending despite the risks and despite conscientious, hardworking citizens telling them to just stop it. Our debt is growing by $3 million per minute. This debt, in conjunction with Obama’s massive government over-reaches like Obamacare, has strangled the private sector, which in turn has stifled job growth and slowed all economic growth. The only way to get our country moving again is to get back to basics like normal people do with our home and small business budgets! That means we must live within our means, get government out of the way of our job creators, develop the God-given natural resources we have been blessed with to provide real jobs and real energy security, and stop growing government and wasting taxpayer money on D.C. cronyism and useless stimulus kick-backs for favored donors.Barack Obama’s record is one of dismal failure, which is why he isn’t talking about it. He would rather spend his time demonizing his opponents.
The simple fact remains that Mitt Romney is not responsible for the dire state of our economy or the corruption and incompetence of the current administration.Over the next 86 days, Barack Obama will try to distract us from his record. Many in the media will roll along with him in this mission. We must not let them continue the deception and distractions, and we must not be afraid to call the President out on his lies. His entire record in office exposes the false promises he made four years ago. So, let’s take a moment to remember what candidate Obama said just four short years ago.Candidate Obama promised us fiscal prudence. But President Obama’s reckless spending and lack of fiscal leadership has led to the downgrading of our nation’s credit rating for the first time in history.Candidate Obama decried reckless spending and promised to cut the deficit. But President Obama and those in Congress who control the purse strings and “go along to get along” have tripled it. President Obama’s proposed budget was so absurdly and wildly irresponsible that not one member of Congress, Republican or Democrat, voted in favor of it. And yet the Democrat controlled Senate still refuses to pass a budget itself, and this refusal has been going on for years now. That is irresponsible and, much more, it’s unconstitutional.Candidate Obama promised us a “smarter government,” but
President Obama has created a government that’s not too big to fail, but too big to succeed.Candidate Obama promised us a plan for American energy independence. But President Obama has forced American taxpayers to subsidize bankrupt green energy companies with ties to his campaign donors. And when it comes to the energy we actually use to fuel our economy, President Obama’s administration blocks drilling and drags its feet on the permitting process. Meanwhile, he supports foreign energy developments, but not American made energy development.
His administration opposes everything from drilling in ANWR to building the Keystone Pipeline to coal plants, but he’s all for subsidizing offshore drilling in Brazil and sitting back on his thumb while China moves in to pursue oil deals with Canada because his administration blocked responsible energy infrastructure development. Candidate Obama promised us “the most transparent administration in history.” But in addition to refusing FOIA-requested documents, President Obama’s administration regularly holds meetings outside the White House and off the official White House visitor list with lobbyists and corporate interests they don’t want us to know about.
Candidate Obama promised to unite all America, but President Obama has cynically divided us again and again in his efforts to win reelection by playing identity politics and class warfare and pitting one group against another.Candidate Obama promised us a “fundamentally transformed” America, and that is the only promise he’s delivered on. We can see now what his idea of “hope” is.
Now we want change. He has failed to lead, so We the People must lead. And our leadership starts at the ballot box on November 6th.Please continue to focus on the presidential race and on helping Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, but it’s also imperative that we get involved in the nation’s important House and Senate races. These candidates need our help to ensure that our next president has a responsible and ethical Congress that actually gets things done for America. Now on to November!- Sarah Palin

Congratulations
to Mitt Romney on his choice of Congressman Paul Ryan as his running
mate. President Obama has
Left Undecided If Romney/Ryan Are Gog/Magog or Beast/Dragon
The left sites are going berserk with hate about Ryan or rather Romney/Ryan who are apparently Gog and Magog or the Beast and the Dragon.
Even Sarah did not get such venom at her roll out-puzzlement and a bit of snark-but we are witnessing core depth hatred from the left for Ryan.
It's actually quite amusing.

Ryan, Not A "Next In Line" Type The Best For Palin's 2016 Prospects
Mitt Romney's choice of Paul Ryan is one of the best that he could have made as far as the conservative renewal ticket for 2016 and especially for Sarah Palin's prospects.
Certainly she will take a hit as the media, the left and most especially the beltway right takes the opportunity in the first few days of bashing Palin. "Ryan is no Palin" is the immediate theme as one would expect as his virtues of intellect and experience are contrasted with Palin's supposed failings in those and a myriad of other areas they will bring up.
The other theme that will develop after the campaigns get into high gear will be be "Sarah Palin is now a distant memory" and "Sarah who" and other variations of that theme. Fine, let every dog have their day.Palin supporters will, especially by the immediate reaction from those quarters I have seen, be even more riled up against the Beltway GOPe which doesn't help Romney's prospects such as they are.
Three months will come and go and Ryan will get his profile lifted and Palin will have hers diminished but looking to after the election Ryan appears to have been the best pick for Palin's future prospects.
Ryan, for all his touted qualities does not appear to be the supposed traditional GOP "next in line" after Romney is defeated. If Romney had chosen Rubio or Christie then those large personalities, and in Rubio's case good storyline of rise form poverty and ethnic appeal would have ensured they would have survived what CNN's Candy Crowley called the Romney/Ryan "death wish" ticket's fate. They most certainly would have had a jump start on all the other 2016 prospective candidates and cold have claimed the heir apparent status.
With Ryan as the pick the 2016 field is a level one with Ryan, should he choose to run having no more major advantage than say a Quayle or an Edwards had. Palin on the other hand starts with a dedicated base who will campaign and organise for her from the start.
Her ability to attract crowds and passions will be contrasted with Ryan's performance and in the meantime she will continue on her very successful path of endorsing winners and building up a support base in Congress.Rubio and Christie will be reduced to background noise after the convention and will have had the negative of having been passed over as inferior to Ryan.
If Palin is not invited to speak at Tampa that will of course be another opportunity for her enemies to bash and write her off, In the long run it is better for her to stay away from the coronation of a loser whom she never really endorsed but actually warned against.
She is in a position now of being able to turn down their having made a possibly perfunctory offer of a low level speaking time which gives her an even better 2016 profile. Her down ticket hard work will protect her from any charge of not having been a "team player" and her "anyone but Obama" comments will ensure that she will not be charged with not having supported the chosen candidate.
Certainly there will be some dark days ahead not only for Palin but conservatives but they will pass and the 2016 prospects are very bright for both with the voice of Ryan

Oh The Happy Memories; "CNN; Private Plane From Alaska Lands In Ohio" August 2008
From "Politically Drunk On Power" Blog with thanks for the happy memories, which are leavened with sadness viewing the GOP today. But there is 2016 to look forwards to as a direct consequence of the article below.

Private Plane From Alask Lands In Ohio! CNN Speculates It May Be Palin
Rumors are flying this morning from CNN that a private plane from Alaska landed in Ohio overnight, fueling rumors that Sarah Palin may indeed be John McCain's Vice Presidential Pick. Palin, an extremely popular Governor of Alaska has long been my personal choice for VP.
Palin will represent a tremendous problem for Obama considering the ongoing claim that he has levied against John McCain that he is opposed to women's right and equal pay. If Palin is the choice, I will gladly hand him a rag to wipe the egg from his face. It also represents a problem considering the millions of Clinton voters that felt that the Obama campaign launched mysogenistic attacks during the primaries.
CNN is reporting that last night at 10pm, a private airplane from Anchorage landed at a private airport outside of Dayton. According to reporters staked out at the airport, a woman and two teenagers, in the darkeness were immediately ushered into a SUV and driven away. An airport supervisor was quoted as stating that it was the most secretive flight he could ever remember.
UPDATE: Fox News Say Romney Has Said He Is Out! They Are Also Speculating It Is Palin!
UPDATE #2: ABC Reports Largely Debunked, based upon statements from Palin's Office early last night. MSNBC is clueless, still stating Liebermann is in the running?? CNBC & Chicago Tribune Both Reporting They Have Confirmed That Palin Is The VP Choice. I Guess We Will Find Out! Bad Morning For Obama!
UPDATE #3: Fox News - Backstage Sources Confiming That Palin IS THE VP! Woo Hoo!!!!!!
PALIN IT IS! BIG TROUBLE FOR THE OBAMA CAMPAIGN!!!
If Palin is choice it will make a great commercial considering attacks by Biden and Obama both in the past days stating John McCain opposes equal pay for women.

Legalize Same Sex Marriage; Then Logic Dictates Legalizing Same Sex Polygamy
Either society has mores and values, structures and norms or it has, as President Obama put it, as he moved from commitment to one man one woman marriage, to homosexual marriage approval, his "evolving" values.
I have lived to see Blacks benefit from an evolving society. From a position where,as I saw it myself in a bus station, there were separate drinking fountains and toilet facilities for Blacks, to full equality.
That is an example of evolving attitudes to basic human rights and an affirmation to the concept that "all men are created equal." It, the evolved value, is dealing with a fundamental law of nature. Nature stands in relation to human inter-action in one way, the survival and propagation of the species.
This is why human society, across recoded history, values and sanctions procreative marriage. Why it is the norm, why society, allowing for local variations, considers it the best mechanism for child raising and why, in the main one man one woman has been the norm. Even in Muslim countries which allow polygamy, their is a limit to the amount of wives a male can have.
To sanction homosexual marriage, which has been rejected in every state where it has gone to the ballot so far, runs against nearly all recorded history, societies and religious values. Further, if it is accepted as the new "norm" then there is absolutely no logical argument against sanctioning multiple marriages, including of course multiple homosexual marriages.
If married homosexuals can adopt children their is absolutely no reason why polygamous couples, Gay or straight should not be able to as well. To use the Gay argument "to prevent polygamous couples from adopting would be an infringement of their basic human rights."
Yes society must evolve where matters of basic humanity are concerned, like segregation, but to say there are absolutely no limits to "evolution" is preposterous and anarchistic. Going against nature, which underpins the "traditional marriage" basis of society and child rearing is a bridge to far into the leftist agenda.
That is unless they give "basic rights" to polygamous couples (and while they are at it, why not nudists) and we see Gay marriage advocates leading the fight, unless they are happy to be called hypocrites. To help them get started on "evolution here is a"Top Ten" list of the next up battles against "outdated" societal norms.
10. I won't get married until everyone has the right to marry their sister
9. I etc their brother
8. I etc their mother
7. I etc their father
6. I etc their daughter
5. I etc their son
4. I etc multiple wives
3. I etc multiple husbands
2. I etc multiple husbands and wives
1. I etc Cats and dogs
Is This The World's Handsomest (Unmarried) Scientist ?
Pictured above at his lab is Dr. James Sheppard PhD (Marine Science) who is a leading scientist in the field of spatial ecology and is noted for his work in the preservation of the highly endangered bird species.
As can be seen by his appearance the old scientific controversy-is it nature or nurture, has been settled as clearly he possesses an outstanding genetic inheritance.
This has no doubt contributed to not only his good looks but his warm and gentle nature. The only negative for him is he is unmarried, if only there were an attractive intelligent lady out there, but time and place has not led to that happen-stance yet.
Here is his website AT THIS LINK which has interesting updates of ecology developments
Palin Showed Political Smarts Not Running & Steering Clear Of The Disastrously Polling GOP Campaign.
If any one thing points out the Palin political smarts, it is her incredibly wise decision to say out of the ridiculous embarrassment that is the current GOP presidential race.
The potential voters, according to the polls, have Romney in danger of falling below 40% against President Obama and he is being slaughtered in the Electoral College. In these economic circumstances when, after four years in office the unemployment rate is above the level where Obama said he would not deserve re-election, the GOP is running one of the worst campaigns since Dewey.
The only positives from the current situation would be if Romney goes down to defeat against Obama which would clear the way for a genuine conservative e.g. Palin in 2016. It would be even better if Romney chose a prospective 2016 RINO to be his VP running mate, e.g. Christie, who would then be tainted with the loss.
Palin has also shown her smarts by not overtly endorsing Romney, whilst still being seen as a team player. Thus she won't be handicapped with being part of the loss, whilst not being castigated for not being an active Republican during the campaign
Yes Palin was smart not to get mixed up in this ridiculous spectacle, but that is a sad commentary on the GOP at this vital time. She has played the Tampa card perfectly too. By not pressing for an invitation she did not come across as desperate or demeaning herself. By not complaining she looked a team player and mature in her response. The fact that the Romney people came to her, and she now has the option of rejecting a poorly placed speaking slot, shows her power and influence.
The 2016 campaign is well under way (why else would Palin have been at a major donors social event in Iowa last week?) and has been since Barbara Bush attacked Palin and continues with
Ari Fleischer, Dick Cheney and Karl Rove trying to undermine her. The Bush forces are looking beyond a Romney defeat, and Palin is clearly seen as a major threat. Christie and Palin have both indicated they are open to running in 2016 and the rush will be on in the new year as others test the waters.
Without the financial resources Palin would probably have suffered the same fate in Florida that Gingrich did when Romney poured millions into defeating him. If that had happened to her, her political career would now be over. By wisely choosing not to run she can continue to build up a team of allies from her endorsed winners, and raise the finances required over the next three years.

As Palin Hits 53.54% Favorability Romney Descends to 40% Versus President Obama
On the day that Sarah Palin goes to 53.54% popularity Mitt Romney hits his nadir at 40% versus Obama in the Fox poll, a 9 point deficit, which descent mirrors the 7 point deficit he has in the CNN Poll-they all can't be wrong trend wise.
Nothing to add really is there except to refer to Gingrich
Here is the previous report on Palin's ascent:
America's Sweetheart once again. Sarah Palin's approval rating continues on an seemingly inexorable rise as she reaches new heights for the year at 53.50% approval on the day when Reuters records Mitt Romney at
42% against President Obama. Palin is up a massive 16 points over the last twelve months.
The new 5,000+ vote EM Poll AT THIS LINK gives Palin a 53.50% approval rating. This is her fourth rating above 50% in this poll since early 2009 and shows the long struggle against media distortion she has had to undertake, so the slow and steady rise continues-here is Palin's polling over the last year;
Undertake the long struggle she has done indeed, and her tenacity seems to finally be paying, off as voters now are seeing her in a substantially positive light again.
Further recent factors in Palin's rise in popularity (Romney polled at a near disastrous 41% in the latest Fox News poll July 17th and Reuters at 42% in a just released poll could be:
Her six in a row winning endorsements for high profile campaigns e.g. Mourdoch and Fischer's come from behind Senate primary wins, and Ted Cruz's remarkable rise in Texas-all with Palin's support. The perceived unfairness to Palin by the Romney team in hiring someone who has spoken negatively about to run his campaign, and of course their stonewalling Palin being invited to Tampa
Yes certainly, the Election Meter poll is an on line poll and can be discounted to a degree because of that. However, when Palin was at her absolute nadir in this poll in 2010 at 19.2% her enemies would have seized on it as being representative of a general feeling.
There is some degree of validity to that view, although it is distorted and extreme, but on the other hand the steady, seemingly inexorable rise since then must also reflect a wider reality-which will of course be ignored by her enemies.

As Even Coulter Blasts Romney,Gingrich Voters In S.Carolina Were Right; He Should Have Been The Candidate
Musing further on the mess that is the Romney campaign, with him sinking further in the polls-42% in Reuter's today-and, as electoral-vote.com shows, he is massively behind in the Electoral college, I return to my choice in the primary campaign Newt Gingrich.
The voters of South Carolina voted overwhelmingly for Newt, and historically, that state has been very often the determiner of who the candidate would eventually be.
If Gingrich had gone on to win the next up state, Florida, he probably would have had the momentum to at least have a brokered convention on tap if not garnering enough delegates to win the nomination prior to Tampa.
Alarmed, the Romney backers spent millions of dollars in attack ads in the Florida campaign and overwhelmed Gingrich who was never able to recover the financial ability to be competitive after that.
Romney never won a majority of votes during the active part of the primary campaign even though he had the massive financial resources and the backing of the establishment in the Beltway and media and the likes of Ann Coulter.
When Palin decided not to run it seemed to many conservative Palin supporters that Gingrich was their best hope (especially after Palin herself said she would vote for him) for a genuinely conservative president and agenda.
His new Contract With America was a fine set of principles and action plans and he would have been a worthy opponent for President Obama. Not least because he stood for something and wasn't encumbered by an "etch-a sketch" flip flopping reputation, nor saddled with a health care history like Romney.
Since Romney won, against weak under financed opposition, his campaign has, in the view of many seasoned commentators across the political spectrum, been lacklustre and makes McCain's look stellar by comparison.
His hiring as a campaign manager someone who was an attacker of Palin, his not offering her a major speaking role in Tampa has deeply annoyed her legion of supporters.
His hiring of a campaign spokesperson who applauds his Massachusetts health care as a response to an Obama campaign attack advert was seen as possibly disastrous by Red State and now Coulter herself. Now his reported sanctioning of Gays to work in the Boy Scouts may be the final straw for many
No doubt Gingrich as the nominee would have undergone substantial attacks on aspects of his past history, especially his personal life but conservatives, the base, would have supported him on his steadfast political principles and ignored the media.
It may very well turn out in November voters of South Carolina and Georgia were right in the primary campaign but that knowledge will be cold comfort to them and the rank and file of the GOP across America when faced with four more years of an Obama administration

Report; "Romney Backs Gays In Boy Scouts" That's the Final Straw No?
A huge fuss and kerfuffle from the conservatives and the likes of Ann Coulter over a key Romney staffer saying, in effect if you need health care move to Massachusetts. Erick Erickson at Red State went into a fit as did Coulter, Malkin and Limbaugh
Erickson said that this marked the doom of Romney's campaign as it opened wounds which conservatives had allowed to heal over.
Stacy McCain was not so apocalyptic, but agreed that it was not a good look.
However, Conservatives knew Romney's position on health care and enough voted for him in the primary's to give him the delegates (but not a majority of votes). Further, it could be said that the stuff up today was a staffers' doing and not Romney's-although he is being castigated by Coulter for hiring such a poor choice and she is demanding he fire her straight away -or else he should shut up shop.
But, if the Newsmax report is correct AT THIS LINK then surely that is the final straw. One doesn't have to be a Christian, or a moralist to oppose Gays serving in the Scouts, but simply possess a modicum of common sense.
How many cases of predatory homosexuals having positions of authority in the Scouts have surfaced over the years. How many have been undiscovered or covered up and how many lives have been permanently scarred ?
To place openly homosexual adults in charge of vulnerable young men is frankly crazy it is like, almost literally putting a lamb in a lions den. Non-homosexual men to not perform homosexual acts on children, homosexual men have been convicted of doing so. For Romney, the soon to be presidential candidate of the Republican party to agree to place Gay men in positions of authority over young males is totally wrong.
I do not understand how any conservative could vote for this man.

Is It Right For Ace of Spades & The Other McCain To Use This Stunning Girl's Photo/Cleavage To Get Page Views?
Both the Ace of Spades and Stacy McCain's The Other McCain blog sites have this photograph, or a link to it, in what appears to me to be a blatant attempt to get page views. I would never do such a thing of course.
Sure McCain links to it as an example of a cautionary tale of someone having, perhaps, too much of what he considers a good thing, and Ace shows the picture and threatens retribution against "Ryan" the supposed recipient of the tasteful cake. But this is not the first time I have noted this sort of thing. After the "Ryan" photograph I reprint some earlier examples of questionable us of female bodies (although it must be said they were placed on the site by an advertiser-but still).
You be the judge after careful and close examination of all these pictures.
The well known site "The Other McCain" run by the ineffable Stacy McCain, has been running a series of advertisements for "Kyle Leon's Customized Fat Loss". The site portal has a series of three (that I have seen there may have been more of these) pictures of young women with enormous breasts.
I presume this is to pique the interest of, especially, males to see exactly how these women became so endowed, and if such a transformation is available for the partners of those making further enquires by clicking on the link. On the other hand there may be a degree of salacious interest.
To determine if everything was as it should be, I decided to do a thorough investigation of these women. Unfortunately they do not appear all at once, so I had to repeatedly refresh the page. When doing this a different large busted woman appeared each time, and I was able to example the photographs minutely.
I am glad to report that upon a detailed investigation I determined that they, the images, were a wholesome introduction to the benefits of fat loss, and commend all readers to examine these pictures. themselves.
Here aremany examples but by all means go to the original site and click on each multiple times.
Here is the 4th-6th photographs-upon close inspection they too passes the honest introduction to fat reduction test.
