As 2015 Ends America Falls In Love With Sarah Palin All Over Again

And of course this wonderful bit of whimsy and classic Palin self-parody is just icing on the cake

Image result for sarah palin

It is hard to imagine any family waiting for five hours just to meet a politician and get their autograph. Perhaps Donald Trump might find such support, certainly he gets massive crowds, but even for Trump the scenario seems unlikely (for Hillary it seems, frankly, unimaginable).

But for Sarah Palin, after all these years after her sensational introduction to the American people that memorable night in St.Paul at the GOP convention in 2008, such dedication is not only unexceptional it is often commonplace. At Governor Palin's latest book signing in California a line a thousand person long waited patiently to see her and, as the local Santa Clarita  television report showed a family waited patiently for five hours to see her'

(Kerry Sperlin; "I got my husband here at 6 a.m.")

After years of media vilification and their creation of a SNL caricature which, to this day has leftist
still thinking she, not Tina Fey, said "I can see Russia from my window" Palin has emerged as'as the Christian Science Monitor described her "The grand dame of the tea party movement" in an article setting out what they describe as "Palin's satisfaction in seeing her "Republican populism" ascendant.

In an online poll which commenced in 2009 with Palin at 51% approval, and which then saw her to sink to a nadir of 20% after the Gifford's tragedy (which she was unjustly blamed for by a rabid media) the ensuing years have seen a steady rise in her popularity to a now 55%

Yes, this is an online poll (which type of polling is increasingly being accepted as valid) but for those who decry it as supporter generated, they would also have to agree that Palin's low of 20% was also not valid.

The publication of her latest book 'Sweet Freedom' with its religious orientationhas solidified Palin's image as a solid Christian, and her ongoing support for special needs children continues to strike a sympathetic chord with so many-including former political enemy David Axelrod who also is a special needs child parent.

Palin has clearly made her support of Donald Trump and, to a lesser degree, Ted Cruz well known in the current campaign season without making a formal declaration of endorsement. But, also notably, Palin has been friends with almost all the candidates with Marco Rubio being the standout exception.

Palin has emerged as (almost) everybody's friend and nobody's enemy as the pictures below indicate. Further she reached out across party lines  (to James Carville)in her stint as front person for the OANN network.
And who could forget the love for Sarah from the "Stump for Trump Sisters??

Of course the haters continue to hate as a quick perusal of the comments section will show in almost any article in the MSM about her. But they are talking amongst themselves in an echo chamber as nobody can be bothered to respond to their juvenile rants, or to the obviously orchestrated "UniteBlue" mass tweets about her.

The latter is an odd phenomenon. Why an organized effort on behalf of big leftist money should be constantly run through Twitter against a person they deem as "irrelevant is a mystery. On the other hand she must be perceived as some sort of threat otherwise why would they undertake such a seemingly pointless waste of effort.

Governor Palin herself indicated that 2015 has been a tough year for her with "doors closed on her." That may indeed have been her perception but it was not the whole story. What has also happened is the passage of time haa seen so many of her warnings and strictures comes to pass, sadly so, and many of her detractors having fallen by the way side too.

On the other hand the ridiculous media/leftist blogs caricature of the "dumb yokel who can't even say what newspapers she has read" has faded into deserved oblivion.

What the future holds for Palin is anybody's guess but if I had to make a prediction whatever it is (and a major role in a Trump administration looks a strong possibility) it will see an increasingly admired Palin using that wellstore of goodwill to achieve outstanding success that her talents have equipped her for.

In the end, good triumphs over evil despite the vicissitudes along the way. So far, Governor Palin's Christian path is an obvious confirmation of this Christian truth.

GOP hopeful Rick Santorum (left) stopped by to say hello to Palin (middle left) and they brought family members Daniel Santorum (middle right) and Todd Palin (right) along for the ride

And of course to finish off the year on a celestial trumpet type high note

A sweet note from my mom…
Oh, perfect love! The best gift ever!
Thank you, Bristol, for your strength and good heart and your love of life. The most important people in Bristol’s life were there to witness the miracle of Sailor Grace Palin’s arrival last night.
Thank you for sharing the miracle with Piper, Marina, and me, Bri! And we thank Todd for taking care of the rest of the family during this most precious beginning of a great new chapter!

UPDATE Trump 31 ahead of Cruz;Second Iowa Poll In A Row Confirms Trump Leads. Hits Highest Aggregate Nationally

Update;
New Morning Consult Poll Trump 40% Cruz 9%. Trump only 31 ahead of surging Cruz Monmouth Trump 41% ABC Trump 38%

All the "Trump is doomed because he is behind Cruz in Iowa who is experiencing a "massive surge" ballyhoo is quickly fading as all the previous Trump Doom memes have. There is a new one today "Trump is about to get fired" which is destined to join the other 963 or so previous.

The Des Moines Bloomberg poll which had Cruz at 31% and Trump at 21% a huge 10 points behind has seen two new polls taken after his Muslim immigration halt statement which puts Trump back in the lead at 28% a rise of 7 points whilst Cruz has dropped 6.

Nationally Real Clear Politics now includes the latest ABC poll which when included in the aggregate average puts Trump substantially ahead of the field at 33% a lead of 169 points and above the supposed "Trump has a ceiling of 30%" meme.

Donald Trump's incredible Poll Day 38% and 41% in Phone/Interview Polls Regains Lead In Iowa

The last refuge for the Trump haters Pollsters (one and the same) and "pundits" who are heading for the dustbin of history was "Trump has a ceiling of 25%-30% in the polls. And "when the field narrows the voters will unite around the Establishment candidate."

The first major non-online polls taken entirely after Trump's "Muslim immigration halt" speech have blown that sad meme out of the water and with it the last shreds of any remaining reputation the pundits may have had.

Firstly a new Monmouth poll has Trump at 41%. This is his highest in that poll. It makes his aggregate polling of all polls at both Huffington Post, which compiles all polls, and Real Clear Politics which aggregates selected polls, at his highest point ever.

Secondly Trump is so far out in front even if ALL the Establishment candidates votes went to one person he would still beat them-comfortably. And of course, woe to the establishment, Senator Cruz is in second place so if the unthinkable happened Cruz would receive most of Trump's support-it would hardly go to Christie for example, so the Establishment would be no better off.

And, so much for the "Trump has lost his lead in Iowa, Cruz surges" media meme (and again, what do they gain?) The new Quinnipiac Poll for Iowa has Trump rising 7 points from the obviously distorted Selzer poll which had Cruz way in front.

Another Media meme exploded;  ABC POLL Trump leads in all category of GOP voters polled and leads all candidates in support from college educated voters.

ABC "Trump only up a slight" 6 points to 38% only 6 behind Hillary who "51% "express anxiety at the thought of"

Doug Mataconis Statement On GOP Convention Rules Utterly Contradicted

UPDATE:Another article from Real Clear Politics refutes Doug Mataconis "Why Rule 40 Won't Affect the GOP Primary Outcome"

A senior member of 'The Green Papers', a site that specializes in analyzing the rules of conventions responded to my questioning  this statement from Doug Mataconis of Outside The Beltway'

"It’s also worth noting that, under the RNC Rules, no changes to this or any of the other convention rules can impact what  happens in 2016 since they would only take effect with the 2020 Convention."

I asked this in response;

"My understanding is that this is incorrect as once the convention commences the rules committee can make changes as they see fit. Is that not so?"

To which question I received this kind, courteous and comprehensive reply which in my opinion which I would imagine most if not all would concur with, which clearly repudiates Mataconis (who is a lawyer by the way)

Mission Statement
Welcome! This site is dedicated to the dissemination of facts, figures, tidbits and commentary- in fact, information of many different kinds- related (primarily) to the American political process. We sincerely hope you very easily find the kind of information you are looking for here, perhaps even information- all gathered here in one place- you might not so easily find anywhere else.

"While it is true that previously adopted procedural rules (through the 2012 GOP Convention) will be utilized at the 2016 gathering in Cleveland so long as they might prove practicable, there is still that very essence of Parliamentary Procedure 101 in which "a body may alter its own rules by its own vote at any time".

Indeed, the very nature of deliberative bodies is that they ever be able to best do that which the consensus within said body might wish them to do and, if the body's standing rules happen to get in the way... well----------

This is even more true of the quadrennial National Political Party (Nominating) Conventions than most:
for these National Coventions meeting but for the better part of a week are, in theory, the
only times the Parties themselves (as a visible entity) even really exist on the national level: while there are Party National Committees, such as the Republican National Committee itself, the Convention every four years is
the institutional face of the Party as a national political entity (the, albeit arguably, best analogy here is in the political [nay, "constitutional"] relations between the traditional Town Meeting in New England and the town[ship]'s Board of Selectmen, in which [unlike, say, a Council of a City, Village or Borough both within and without New England] the Selectmen exercise administrative functions only while only the annual [outside of any special such gatherings] Town Meeting is the legal policy-making body for the town[ship]: the Party National Committees are, in this analogy, the equivalent of the Board of Selectmen while the quadrennial National Conventions are the 'Town Meetings', if you will, of the Party as a nationwide institution)...

even though the days when such National Conventions every four years were, indeed, the only time State (and even more local) Party leaders and functionaries could ever meet together face to face and, among themselves and their Party's delegates to said Convention, well hammer out a national political program to present to the Nation come the ensuing General Election are now long gone (the Internet being only the latest modern communications tool to have put paid to just such a function of the Conventions), the National Convention is still- in the main and to this very day-
the National [insert Party name here] Party itself (the rest of the time [1457 out of 1461 days, normally], the Parties are- at most- federations [and even, at times, mere confederations] of State, county, municipal/township/district and precinct "parties" happening to but bear the same, or similar, name).

It is, rather obviously, quite wise for a well-established "permanent" deliberative body (such as, for example, either house of Congress or a State's legislature) to very closely adhere to (in most cases, long ago-adopted) standing rules of procedure and, thereby, heed the very warning in the Declaration of Independence itself that [p]rudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established shall not be changed for light and transient causes; but for such "prudence" to, somehow, straitjacket a deliberative body that meets for a few days (during which it always has at least the potential of being rocked and tossed on various and sundry political "winds") before passing forever into the mists of History by pointedly making it a slave, as it were, to its own standing rules is, in and of itself, simply ludicrous: likewise, the very notion that standing procedural rules adopted at the 2016 Convention will only bind the 2020 (and, perhaps, later) Conventions- while true per se- being seen as somehow as permanent as those for, say, the United States House of Representatives!

It's quite simple, really: if those in charge of the 2016 Republican National Convention (whoever these might turn out to be) while it is ongoing see it potentially devolving into what can fairly be described as a "complete mess" (not that I am, at this time, expecting such a thing to happen, mind you!), they can then at least attempt to get a majority of the delegates to adopt motions at said Convention to try and counteract this (with the obvious caveat that it is the delegates themselves who get to decide [and it will be said delegates' responses to such cajoling and/or "whip-cracking"- or lack thereof-  that will, in the end, carry the day]), regardless of what the standing rules themselves might- or might not- say...

in addition, the Chair of the Convention (along with those up on the dais assisting him [I would have to presume, based on long-standing tradition, that it
will be a "him"- Speaker of the House Paul Ryan]) ever retains- again to here apply my aforementioned analogy- no less a power as that of a New England Town Meeting Moderator to know when to apply such asRobert's Rules of Order and when to "throw Robert's out the window"!"

I agree that, even with a "constitutional" rule seemingly binding a given deliberative body to adhere to earlier-agreed upon procedure, the body itself can always find a way around this should it ever prove necessary- but it would (and, indeed,
should) generally only be under most extraordinary circumstances. Parliamentarians, however, can prove to be rather creative in this regard

Arrogant Media Switches "Cruz Most Hated" Meme To "Cruz Ascends Over Trump" Without Slightest Embarrassment

That's just a tiny sampling of an ongoing meme until now. And what has changed to arrest and reverse this media attack? Simply the Establishment's candidates especially Jeb Bush and their latest hope Marco Rubio are either dead in the water of stalled at a ceiling level of support.

What to do? The obvious plan is to prop up someone from the supposed conservative side of the ledger to knock back Trump and then utterly destroy them as an opponent for Hillary. They tried that with a succession of props, firstly Fiorina who went nowhere, then Kasich and Walker, both disasters, and then in utter desperation they rallied behind Ben Carson who for a while seemed to be a genuine threat to Trump.

The media have even started running a few "Christie surges' articles but in reality that is a heavy lifting plan which is even to much for the media whose heart is clearly not in it. So, at this stage there is only Senator Cruz left.

That the media and GOP Establishment would have to swallow all their previous attacks on someone they dismissed ass utterly hated with no chance whatsoever to be the nominee matters not one jot. In their arrogance and desperation they will continue to believe they can blatantly treat the public like fools and they will, and have, change horses (for the 6th time) in mid-stream without the slightest embarrassment.

The plan is to so prop up Cruz that he wins Iowa and, as they see it, take the wind out of Trump's sails for at least that state. That this would alter their long-standing meme that winning Iowa is a death sentence again matters not one jot. If they can keep up the "Trump slides" meme until New Hampshire and hope if gives Cruz or Christie a chance there they will do so with every possible means at their disposal.

It's all so blatantly obvious and childish actually. That the media thinks the public will believe that Cruz has been magically transformed from most hated to beloved in a couple of months is the height of arrogance. The one positive from this scandalous behavior is that it, once again, highlights just how in the tank for the Beltway the media is and their utter leftist arrogance.

her is a sampling of the Cruz love from the last few days.
