MSM Pollster Absurdity Continues; "Pollster Got it Right With Aid of Hindu Chanting"

In the latest in the media apologia for the polls, which ranges from Nate Silver;  The polls were bad but not that bad" to The Spectator determining one pollster "got it right."

The determination is that, via arcane methodology involving  "data analysis, which mainly includes weighting data and incorporating a likely voter model. Weighing data allows pollsters to ensure demographics are properly represented in the poll. Likely voter models" Raghavan Mayur the IBD/TIPP  pollster works his data analysis under the inspiration of spiritual guidance.

 "Mayur conducts most of the data analysis on his own. Although, he said he is guided spiritually, especially during the height of the election. He often works while listening to the Gayatri mantra, which is considered by many Hindus to be the most holy mantra in the world.

Mayur is absolutely correct in his view of other pollsters and their inherent leftism or pay for play;

 "There are two main groups in the polling industry, according to Mayur: media and academia. The most prominent polls tend to have huge media companies or universities behind them, such as ABC News or Quinnipiac University. There’s no shortage of funding, he said, so there’s less of an incentive for precision.

‘A smaller pollster like me has to survive,’ he told The Spectator. ‘And the only way to survive is to perform. If I don’t perform, my media partner will not sponsor me. If you’re hungry, you bring a certain type of insight than if you’re well-fed.’

Another issue, he suggested, is a liberal bias among pollsters, which he compared to that of the mainstream media as a whole. This, he said, leads many pollsters to think less critically about their data when it is skewed towards a Democratic candidate.

‘Most of my colleagues are liberal,’ he told The Spectator. ‘So when they see a result that shows 10 points for Biden, they say “great! Let’s run with it.” They’re living in a bubble — a liberal bubble.

To his credit-yes;  The final IBD/TIPP poll on the morning of Election Day had Biden winning by 4 percent, which is spot on" IBD/TIPP final Likely Voter Biden 50%  Trump 46% Margin of error 3.2.

But The Spectator fudges the history, there being no way the MSM approved pollsters turd can be polished

"Since 2004, he’s correctly predicted the winner of each presidential election, being declared the most accurate in 2012 and now again in 2020." This conveniently leaves out 2016 where IBD/TIPP "Correctly predicted the winner."

They got Trump being the "winner" in the popular vote which prediction was way off- Clinton preposterously so.

Actual 2016 final;  Clinton 48.2   Trump  46.1 Johnson 4.7     Stein 1.1

IBD/TIPP Tracking MOE 3.1 1026 LV Clinton 43%  Trump 45% Johnson 8% Stein 2%

Good News! Cruz/Palin Wins In 2024 Landslide

The United States presidential election of 2024 was the 60th quadrennial presidential election. It was held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. The Conservative nominee, Ted Cruz, won the election with his running mate, Sarah Palin. He beat Michelle Obama by a wide margin, with a much higher electoral vote, percentage and also amount of states carried

Cruz and Palin were trailing behind Obama and Sanders very much all the way through the election campaign, but on election day, it swapped, Cruz and Palin won by a very large margin. This was put down to people wanting 'change' and the hatred that was still felt towards Clinton from the last two Democratic terms.

RCP Headlines Trafalgar Georgia Poll; A Go To Pollster, The End For Nate Silver et al

 Real Clear Politics front pages the latest Trafalgar poll for the upcoming Georgia senate races;

GA (Trafalgar): Loeffler (R) 50, Warnock (D) 45 | Ossoff (D) 48, Perdue (R) 47

This was a spot previously reserved for the Nate Silver go to polls like Quinnipiac and NYTimes/Sienna and marks the end of Nate, the other Nate  and the previously "A" rated polls by Silver's 538 site.

It is a new polling world with Trafalgar, Rasmussen and Big Data Polling the only credible pollsters after yet again another previously mainstream pollsters debacle.

Looking at the Trafalgar result it appears that Warnock may have bee the poorest choice for the Dems with his carrying so much baggage. That Ossoff is, at this point marginally ahead by 0.7 percent over Purdue reflects the presidential result (so far) in Georgia almost exactly.

With a 4.7 percent undecided, perhaps reflecting the Libertarian vote from the November result it looks likely there will be at least a 51 member GOP senate with every possibility of it being 52/48

Why Progressive Pundits Make Incendiary Blogposts (Hint....$$)

The radical Dem "young adults" devour the incendiary anti-Trump columns by the likes of fellow progressive's e.g. Matthew Yglesias who they see as fellow radical travelers on the path to, at least socialism.

But, it's all a game and a sham and a chase for page clicks and big bucks which leads to the McMansion (or in the likes of Bernie Sanders a beachside second or third home.)

There's no point in getting irate about what they write or in firing off a condemning Tweet, as it is all just further grist for their grifty mill.

The redoubtable R.S. McCain explains;

 Just to briefly address a few details of today’s bizarre hell-world update, Yglesias said on Twitter that “defund the police” is a bad idea, and the Left . . .

Well, I want to say they “went crazy,” but they were already crazy.

Perhaps it will be easier to understand why Yglesias is pro-police when I remind you that in 2013, he bought a $1.2 million condo near Logan Circle in D.C. This was part of the “gentrification” in our nation’s capital where an incentive program for first-time home buyers enabled a lot of white yuppies to purchase Washington real estate on favorable terms. This wave of “gentrification” in Washington and other major cities occurred at a time when more effective law-enforcement methods had driven U.S. crime rates down to their lowest level since the 1960s. Ah, but then the “Black Lives Matter” movement erupted and now effective law-enforcement methods are RAAAAACIST!

Something about owning property tends to make people — even “progressive” ideologues like Matt Yglesias — rather conservative, at least so far as it concerns their own personal interests.

If you’re renting an apartment and the city turns into Mogadishu, you just terminate your least and move elsewhere. But when you’ve purchased a $1.3 million investment, you have a vested interest in trying to prevent your neighborhood from becoming a war zone. To urban home owners, “defund the police” means surrendering to local warlords, which probably won’t be good for property values.
